More D70 snaps

Very nice :-) All you D70 owners are making me envious! I am
definitely thinking about joining the D70 club now my 4 year old
Coolpix 990 is approaching retirement (it has served me incredibly
well).

I'm curious, how much did you pay for it? Did you get the lens too?
I was recently in NZ and know someone who is going over there again
soon so I was thinking about trying to get it duty free... Not sure
what the deal is but I'd like to get some idea of prices...

Thanks,

Stephen
Stephen,

Paid NZ$2,800 for it with the kit lens (ouch). Thats US$1,800 - but it's like a citizen of the USA paying US$2,800 in "purchasing power parity" terms. Accountants don't get paid so much in NZ, and I am still only earning 70% of what I was earning in the UK. . . but paying less tax.

Great shots Bruce, I really like #2, the driftwood.
Thats what I like about this camera, the more I use and get to know
it, the better my pictures get, you must be very happy with your
new toy. I have been asked to photograph for our friends who are
christening thier daughter on Sunday and I cant wait to give it a
good workout.

Thanks Andy. . . yes I am extremely happy with it - and it does take MUCH better pictures than the S50. I should be able to "grow" with it for a long time.

Hi Bruce!
The scenery is nearly as good in NZ as it is here in Tassie ;-)
I reckon my honeymoon will be over in the Land of the Long White
Cloud though. I'll have to pop the question first ;-)

Hi Nick,

We have some great places in NZ all right. We cannot wait to see Oz. . . I recently returned home to NZ after 12 years in the UK - came back with an English wife and young family. She is very keen to see Australia, but we are doing the South Island first (next April). I have always wanted to see Tasmania - a photographers paradise. . . but it's a bit out of the way.

THANKS Bruce!

Any 100% crops or full sized images may really be more useful.

Especially that lovely pebbled seascape.

Thanks in advance!

Joe,

I won't be able to get much computer time for a while now. My wife is complaining about being a D70-widow and says it's her turn on the computer for a few nights!
