Which mode do you shoot in most often?

Just curious as to which mode people choose to shoot in at any given time. Being new to the 300d (coming from a UZI ) I usually shoot manual, but this camera takes some getting used to even coming form the uzi shooting manual. thoughts on this are appreciated (shooting some action, scenery, and wildlife once I get my longer lens! RM

Mostly AV if doing sports TV

I frequently shoot in Av mode because I frequently desire to shoot wide open (lowest possible f-stop). If I am using my 100-400mm IS L lens, for example, I will zoom out, set the aperature to f/4.5 in Av mode, and then it will continue to use my widest aperature even if I change the focal length on my zoom lens (that lens can only do f/5.6 at 400mm). Very handy!

If I specifically want to stop motion (water, birds in flight, etc...) then I might switch into Tv, just because the shutter speed is what I am thinking the most about. Also, I often switch to Tv for flash photography (just my preference).

I shoot in Av for most everything except flash I use manual

Most of the time I shoot in Av mode, if I want to control the shutter speed I will switch to manual. Rarely ever use any other mode, unless I just want to point and shoot then I will use the P mode, selecting flash when I feel I need it.

Thanks for the ideas..hence this thread. I think other people will benefit from this thread because of the "I'm going to try that" syndrome that will hit with it. I felt comfortable shooting manual with the UZI...now I'm backpeddling with the 300d to try all scenarios out keep them comin! RM
