--Just got the sony tele lens for my V1, so i went to the zoo:
The panther was in a very secure cage so it was impossible to get
pics of it-but as im a biology student, they let me go with them to
an opening on top of the cage, where they feed it from:

I had to be very carefull as these animals can really jump and are
fast as hell!
And i don't think he was thinking - what a nice camera

Deep inside they are just big fluffy pussycats

![]()
All in all im pretty satisfied with the lens as i can now get
really close to the action, and as a bonus the V1 now feels and
looks like a million bucks![]()
It fits in your hand like a glove![]()
Only bad thing is that you can only zoom from 3X-4X Zoom as
anything lesser reveals a black tunnel from the converter! Of
course i bought it to use the largest zoom i could but its pretty
anoying to have to unscrew it if you want to capture something
close to you or a landscape!
Another bonus is that i can now use filters with the 58mm adapter!
I'll be getting my Hoya R72 IR Filter soon! Already bought Hoya Pol
filter!
The V1 also feels ALOT better in my hand now with the adapter on!

--Hello Michael,
What wonderful pictures!!! I have been going to the Zoo lately and
all I can say is OH MY. The picture with the Lions and their Cubs,
is one of the best animal pictures that I have seen in a long time,
it should win you some awards, especially on the POTD sites. It
must have been a rush to get to take pictures through the feeding
ports, and not having to take the pictures through wires or dirty
glass.
Great work, all of your images were unbelievable.
Take care,
Craig

It was really hard getting anything out of this pic as it was
behind glass!
--Brilliant pics mate, it's usually very rare i post a message in
here, usually i look at peoples photos and that's it, although
there are some real good ones in the forum.
But your photos i find really stunning, they capture the animals
moods very well. The only thing i would say is i feel sorry for
them in captivity although i realise sometimes they are better off
there than in their own habitat.
I have V1 too and will definately be getting add on lenses now!
Cheers mate!
Moey!

Hello CKirk- thanks for the nice words, it really was a rush, and i
was a bit scared that it would jump up and bite my head off- the
zoo keeper was constantly watching him ready to slam the gate- the
lovely beasts can jump up and take a piece of your body and you
won't even know it before you see him with your arm in his mouth![]()
I don't know about the POTD site - what is the address for the
homepage???
--I would love that opportunity, I can only imagine the power and
speed they have after having house cats for over 30years and seeing
what they can do, I can't imagine something that weighs 50-60 times
as much.
Here are a few of the sites, hopefully some of the other posters
will have more, especially all the ones that have won Photo of the
Day.
