Statistics on 10D Problems???

Does anyone have a grasp on the percentage of people that send their camera in for a focus problem or ect? Or could we take a poll?

Are we talking 1-2% 10%...more?

Mine new 10D is set to arrive in a day or so and I'm worried and excited; from all the good things and all the bad things that I hear.

Any comments would be great.

Well, I've got one coming any day now too, but it's too late to worry about whether there are any problems with the camera. My feeling is that they all have problems some times. Murphy's law, you know.

Stop worrying and just plan on having fun when it arrives, that's how I feel about it.
Hope mine will show up tomorrow but I think I'll have to wait until Monday.

Bummer! There is a St. Patrick's Day parade on Sat. that would have been a good trial for the 10D

If the number were even close to 10% of total units, Canon would be losing a huge percentage of their profits on warranty costs and the camera would have been replaced in the lineup by now.

I would bet that the percentage of defects is between 0.5% and 2% of total units. That is normal for the camera manufacturing industry.

One aspect of human nature is, unhappy people speak up, happy people are usually quiet. Plus, when people have problems, they post messages on forums such as this looking for advice. I have never in my life seen a post that said "My {fill in the blank} is working perfectly, what should I do?"

Read this forum, and you can assume that all the people that are posting fantastic shots rather than problems are happy with their cameras. I know I am.

I was thinking about the above after I posted. I know things will be fine...and if not...can be fixed.

The first thing you should do is READ THE MANUAL, then read it again, now you may take the camera out of the box!! For the first 1000 pics you should keep the manual handy this will fix about 50% of the "problems" may users encounter!
