Let's share water pictures!

Not the best quality shot; I'm still deciding on which editing program I should get. Anyway, I thought this was a halfway decent catch for a beginner and a unique picture of a water drop. Wish I had some software to touch this up. Well, I'll get it soon. I'm still learning the camera as well.

Hi,

Since it was pretty warm in California already (27 C yesterday!), I
think it would be nice to share some water pictures. We should have
them no matter what the weather is...

Here is one I shot I took yesterday. I call it 'watersculpture':

Cheers!

Thank you !

Had to wait till after work so the light had gone and I didn't have a tripod for my Z1 + the waves were breaking over the pier we were standing on.

Steven HI
I am very, very new at photography, basically finding out what
aperture and shutterspeed is all about but I love your picture, how
did you do that I would love to experiment.
Thanks Beth
Hi Beth,

I used 1/1000s exposure time, fixed by using the "A" setting on my
Z1 (that is the shortest exposure time selectable on a Z1, an A1
will give you up to 1/16000s, even better).

I used PhotoShop to compensate the exposure (Adjust-> Levels). I
also blurred the background in PhotoShop a little (Lasso tool, then
Filter-> Blur), so the water stands out more and I used a little
sharpening (Filter-> Sharpen).

Let me know if this is sufficient explanation for you. What camera
do you use?

Happy shooting!
Steven
Hi Again,

I have the A2 and the highest I could get is 1/4000 would that work,,, believe me I am knew at this.....I just basically need to get the settings and then after I get the shot I will try working slowly with the photoshop. Would I still turn the dial to A. Thanks for your response.
Beth

I have news for you, NO YANK would be caught DEAD in a nut-pouch like that. That's euro for sure.
