D70 pix from Perth

Why are so many hung up on noise? These images are verry clean. down load and print at 1400 dpi. It's simply not an issue. D rebel trolls are used to looking at over processed plastic looking images. That is there preference. Cannon tells them Cmos is superior so they believe it. They state it publicly on the forums. The superiorority thing is nothing more than cannon marketing strategy. Don't let disgruntald rebel owners tell you otherwise.

bah, stop being paranoid. the d70 shots seem to have more sky noise. It's not the end of the world, but it's true. The shots are still great. The shots from drebels are also great, no need to call them plastic looking.

where on that site do they list the D70? Or is it the Ebay special I've seen?
Cheers.
They're in Sydney/Perth/Singapore. The Camera I got has Singapore
papers but I picked it up in Perth.

Daniel.
Hi,
could you reveal how you got a D70. I thought they weren't
available in Oz yet?

Woudl you mind saying how you bought one?

Nice shot!

funny though, I have noticed this shot is ISO 800. and I checked out some of your other pictures taken at ISO 200. The sky is noiser in those ISO 200 pictures, but not the ISO 800 one, wired.
Made from my ISO 800 shots this morning (bangs head against wall).
Its my first Pano ever, so please excuse some of the stiching.

You can get larger versions in the "My D70" section of my pbase.

They have them on ebay yes, but you can get a slightly better price if you email them direct. Their website has always been a bit out of date.

Ok, I turned the Camera sharpening to the lowest (Normal) and shot a NEF (dont think the sharpening even effects it). Then exported straight to JPEG with no sharpening applied, didn't even rotate it.

The original is available on my pbase, its over 6meg jpg though, so wont be uploading too many more whoppers :)

Anyone got the full version of Noise Ninja to do a sharpened version after noise removal ?

Daniel.

This is THE BEST flora photo I've seen posted from the D70. It jumps right out at you. We'll have to admit that in the blue sky noise department, objectively, the D70 cannot take the crown away from the 300D, but oh my, everything else about the image is more awesome in the D70 - the colour, dynamic range, detail, sharpness, tonality! Thanks for sharing the full-sized image.

I noticed that sharpening before saving as jpeg made a larger file (obviously easier for jpeg compression to work on blurry areas). So to give a contrast, I've saved a crop after the following process

NEF
Medium Sharpening in PictureProject
Export to JPEG (highest quality)
Opened in NoiseNinja, noise removed (made a profile on the spot from the image)
Saved as JPEG 95%
Opened in photoshop and cropped
Saved as JPEG 10

... I'm gonna start a new thread with this picture of yours cropped & framed as if it were mine. This thread will list all D70 pictures that I have found to be super amazing, I hope the original owners don't mind - I'll link to the original post with all due credits.

Good Lord, I'm so excited waiting for all the superb D70 images to start pouring forth. Watch for it!

No probs, just give a link to my pbase so they can download the originals. Noise ninja just munch munched the noise up.
