There is an UZI currently up on ebay for which the current bid (as of approx 9am eastern on 3/3/04) is $1225.00! Most UZI's are selling for around $400.00 on ebay these days. I don't want to unknowingly violate any forum rules (or ebay rules for that matter) so I'm not going to post a link to that auction, but if you do a search on "c-2100" in ebay you'll find it. I can't figure out why that particular UZI has bid up so high - there are quite a few other ones for sale on ebay right now. Can anyone else see something spectacular about that particular one? It's a mystery!!

Care to post the link? Not against forum rules as far as I know, you just can't sell stuff HERE. K.

just found it......ebay's search engine needs work! looks like the current high bidder has zero feedback, probably the poor thing doesn't know any better. there is certainly nothing about this particular auction that justifies a $1225 price!!! K.

It looks like a zero feedback and a 1 are battling back and forth. Very suspicious... I'll bet there is a bid retraction or the whole thing disappears soon. Maybe the owner changed their mind and decided to become the high bidder in order to keep it :)

I took a second to look at the bid history and what he has bought. Seems the other bidder has only bought one item...

Well you guessed it, its a UZI for $450.

It may be real, but something sure seems funny here...

You can just stop the auction and say item is no longer for sale if you decide not to sell. I've done it several times. It only costs you the insertion fee. .35c

-- Several months ago Olympus listed 6 UZi's on their e-bay site. They were refurbs with all the stuff and a 90 day warranty. You can buy the two year extended one during the 90 day period. I wanted to get a" back up" for my 2 year old one so I nailed one for $429.
Then my sister wanted one so I bid on the last last one and got it for $452.

It's nice buying from Olympus because there is no "funny business" at all and they ship promptly. It's a easy transaction.

They put them up on their e-bay site from time to time. It's about time they should have a few more although, they have been out of production so long now, the supply of returned camera's must be running low!

One of the participants(but not the current high bidder) in the bidding war for the $1225 UZI has the current high bid on another UZI for a "mere" $900! What the?? Was thinking about trying to purchase a "backup" UZI myself but I'm gonna wait for this phase to pass! :-)

It may be a scam by 3 bidders. 12hrs and a couple of minutes before end of auction both hi bidders can withdraw their bids dropping the price way down and hopefully the 3rd guy will get it. Bids can't be withdrawn if there is less than 12 hrs left unless your bid was put in within less than 12 hrs of auction end.

I have been involved with 2,400+ auctions on ebay over the past five years. I have never seen something this strage. One guy seems to be bidding on all the C2100 cameras and does not seem to care how high the bid goes up to. He is high bidder on one for $900 and helped to push the price up to $1,225 on another. He has high bids on nearly every C2100 camera on ebay right now. Either is knows something we don't know about the future value of these cameras or he does not know the actual value. Or, it could also be a scam.
with this being the same guy on most of these....seller beware!

I saw this the other day and nothing smelled right about it. I wonder if these people are inflating some bids while keeping other bids in a lower range - but not too low.

Right now I would not sell or bid on a 2100 on ebay.
