Just ordered some ink from their website. Carts for i960 have gone from $1.85 each to $5.95 each. :-(
Someone else please verify.

Has anyone used the Abacus cartridges for an extended period of time? I'm about to start using them in my new i960 and just wanted to hear what the consensus was on their quality.
Thanks.
I still see them listed at $1.85:

Then what's this?

The "public" page with the high prices.

I've been using the abacus inks in my i950 for 6 or 8 months now without a problem.

"Dear Roger,

We have several different online stores. You have previously ordered from our AbacusPrivate store, but this time you ordered from our Abacus24-7 store which has much higher prices. We can cancel your Abacus24-7 order but please be careful in the future."

Regards,
Abacus

For wildly differing prices....Its usually labeled as OA100 brand in a yellow box....I have been buying mine from Abacus for $1.85, but this source with free shipping on $45.00+ orders is now on my bookmark list...

Apparently it's made in China , at an ISO9001 rated facility, and can be privately labeled if you but a large enough quantity...The fact that Abacus sells it at 2 price labels, points out the degree of confusion that exists in the gigantic "generic" ink market...Frank

I have been using them for about two months in my i560 with no problems. The reason why I chose this brand is another thread from about a month ago where this same question was asked and a whole bunch of forumers spoke up - they had all been using this ink for an extended period of time with no problems in their i9xx printers.

Thanks. I didn't want to make a big mistake with my new i960. I tried refilling in the past and have had disastorous results. At the price of the Abacas ink cartridges, it's just not worth the hassle of refilling unless they're going to clog or have quality problems.

I appreciate your response!

but a little "cooler" on my I850....pretty much the same as OEM...I use the 9100 for portraits, since the warmer tone is usually more pleasing, but I havent experienced a pronounced magenta shift...What printer and program are you using? EasyPhoto Print with vivid and noise reduction on normal will usually accurately reproduce an EXIF file...Frank

Thanks for the reply Frank. I tried Abacus after reading some of your posts. The inks work find in general but I can't seem to dial in the color. I'm printing with an i950 and QImage. I've tried several driver settings but still have the cyan cast (very pronouned). I did get acceptable results by setting the driver color adjustments as follows: -40 cyan, +15 magenta, +40 yellow. This seems a bit extreme for fine tuning color. I'll give EasyPhoto a try on Monday, although I don't expect it should behave much differently.

Hi Roger,
I'm not able to find the AbacusPrivate site. Can you help?
