Its time for my first sensor cleaning and I'll need to get the pecpad and solution for it.

Is this what you guys/gals are using for cleaning your sensor?

If so, I'm confused because on the description it says, "PEC*PAD is not recommended for cleaning the CCD." Are they only saying this because they want you to buy a more expensive product?

That's the stuff. I bought mine on line and found out I could have bought it in my local camera shop for a lot less. They have to ship it via a more expensive method.

Check out this link for more details.

That's the stuff and this is what I used to clean my sensor and I can't be more happy with the results. But I did buy the sensor swipe that has been seen here in the forum it takes all the guess work out of what to use for the swipe. My most important info I can give you is follow the direction as closely as possible. Just take the two swipes to clean and change the pecpad if you require another cleaning that way you don't put the dust back on the sensor and only use two or three drops of eclipse.

Hey Mike (Tanglefoot),

Just picked up my new camera yesterday!! and was reading the info about the sensorswipe or sensorswab at the webpage you posted, but when I went to paypal to pay for it, it asked me to put in the dollar amount..., I didnt see where the cost was posted anywhere. How much did you pay for the 14mm sensorswipe if you remember...?
Thanks!

Thanks for the info MHJ, but I finally realized I clicked on the wrong spot. You can get a 14mm rubber spatula head (sensorswipe) that is reusable over and over for only $6.95 plus $1.00 shipping instead of paying $40.00 for a few unreusable swabs that are probably more flimsy and much more expensive not to mention probably less effective. Thanks for the link tho as I do need to get some eclipse and pecpads too!
