Look guys this forum appears to be decreasing in quality because too many people are busy arguing about off-topic stuff and posting images of little consequence.

I personally have had enough of receiving complaints about this forum and certain members and will begin banning and removing ANY threads which I believe are lowering the tone.

Users banned will not be allowed back.

Chill out, get back and get back to talking about the camera, techniques and photography tips.

And thanks, Phil, for this forum.

300D - It's a great camera, even if it isn't black

Phil: I could not agree more with you Phil. I have learned many good things about my Digital Rebel and improved ideas for using it from this site which is why I come here. The 'D70 is better' and the 'Daneilla' posts have gotten riduclious.

Thanks for watching.

Fully agree with you; as a "serious" amateur photographer with a 300D I was'nt interested anymore in
this forum. All "peanuts" and not to the point
Good luck with all your forums.

Do you send back the camera you get to do your review? I'm sure you've been asked this before. Could you comment on the Ai servo focus taking over during recomposition, happens all the time with my 400 f5.6L. If you commented in another thread i must have missed it. I read your comment in the review, but i was wondering if you tried to lock focus and recompose using a 300-400mm lens.

If they don't want to to abide by your rules, let them
start their own forum, instead of trying to high-jack this
one for their own soap box or admiration society!

when i joined this forum i was excited every day with the things i was learning from others. in the last month or two it has become increasingly boring with unrelated posts, silly argumentative replies, and overall decrease in "300d photograpy stuff'". i will definitely miss Daniella, but on the bright side i hope this leads us back to being the premier forum for learning photography.

I had given up on this forum for the past couple of days -- sick of looking at thread after thread of sniping and non-drebel related bickering. When I booted up this morning, I wondered if it would still be here.

By its very nature, the days of this forum are numbered. Exciting new d-camera technology appears every day. It won’t be long before the drebel is yesterday’s news, and doesn’t warrant its own forum.

The folks here, who ignore the purpose and rules of the forum and constantly whine and snipe and carry on like a bunch of five-year olds, are giving Phil and very nice excuse to say, “OK, you’ve had your day – time for the D70 (or whoever…) folks to have their own forum. Off you go to the Canon D-SLR boards.

One more batch of childish nonsense like the last, and my bet is, we’re outta here.

I found myself coming here less and less because of this.

I am glad you will take care of this problem and the forum can get back to the way it should be.

What's the problem? I've been away a few days, and looking at the current posts, everything seems to be on topic to me. Did I miss something?

If it looks normal then that means Phil indeed did the necessary housekeeping. Believe me, you didn't miss anything you would have wanted to see anyway. Let's get back to the way we used to be. Thanks Phil. ~ m²
