Where is Daniella?

I don't have any personal experience with her advice, but with the
number of people that have posted that they miss her advice, I
thought it was a reasonable assumption that she had provided them
with some.

I've seen her post many times that it was taken with a filter - a
gold polariser (I think) and not processed any more than any of her
usual workflow, which is certainly less than I personally usually
do.
I stand corrected, thanks! Although I have no doubt that the same effect could be achieved with post processing.

As far as the shot goes, I have no doubt that it is tea. It just isn't my cuppa. :)

Why don't you do a search?
She posted about 200 posts a week for a few years.
She probably holds some posting record in this forum.
I'm sure you will find her advice posts.

If you want a place to start, check my early posts asking for help. She replied to most of them.

I work in a similar industry so I'm aware of social engineering and various other fraud tactics. Even working in an industry where we are trained to be paranoid, I still don't buy this Daniella conspiracy. Face it, she'd be a pretty stupid thief if she spent months and months developing a respected personality for such a small take. The idea is almost laughable.

However, I really could care less if Daniella is a fat, middle age, balding smoker with halitosis or a nubile young vixen with pearly white teeth.

She has helped numerous people here, and was very much liked by a great many of us. I don't think people liked her because they thought she was a woman. Rather, I think people liked her because she was always willing to help out with friendly advice.

Looks like somewhere she ran afoul of the rules and Phil decided to ban her. His board, his perogative. But really, doesn't anyone else think the whole conspiracy theory is so absurd as to be humorous?

Just because the name Daniella was used?

In my experience when someone is manipulating a forum for personal
gain they are typically misrepresenting themselves in other ways,
there is every chance that Daniella is Male - aged 39 - balding and
with bad breath.

However, there is also a chance she is a genuine sweety but I
wouldn't count on it. Social manipulators are merciless in their
activity when it comes to $$$.
I find it sad that someone with such talent was banned for such a
pitiful excuse for a reason (in my opinion). True, if that was
those are the rules, then fine, why not give he a warning.

I read, in a post, asking about where a certain guy went on the
forums. He was repeatedly posting voyeuristic pictures, possibly of
children, and he was given warnings, THEN banned.

That is the information Phil himself gave out in a post. Now, call
me crazy, but somebody posting information about her pictures that
people asked about, accidently breaking rules, deverses a warning
more than what that guy did.

Sounds like someone was waiting for an oppertunity to make a peck
at her, probably jealous etc.

I don't think the treatment was just, or fair, in compairson to the
previous action taken against more serious matters (in my opinion).

It wasn't a single post, his/her signature and subsequently every post he/she made contained commercial advertising of a website as I remember it. Which is where the 'bumping' pays off as more and more people see the website advertised.

He/She is still promoting their website by the way.

He/She has now assumed the name shutterdream which is based upon a commercial website shutterdream.com and you say this person is completely innocent.

Sorry but I think you are wrong and the issue is continuing and 'she' is still violating rules openly.

http://www.shutterdream.com/

Proves my theory. And no, I am not advertising ;)
Wrong, I have no grudges or dislike for a person I don't know.
Just analytical opinions based on my unbiased observations of
activity here that relates to my skilled occupation identifying
fraudsters and their manipulative ways :P
Which is exactly what a manipulative fraudster would say if they
did have a grudge against someone. :)

Doesn't seem much of an unbiased opinion to me. The evidence seems
to me to be a bit thin for such a long stretch. From what I can
tell one of your main peices of "evidence" against her is that she
posted a lot and was very helpful to others. Should we assume that
everyone that posts a lot and is helpful is trying to manipulate us?

And my understanding is that she posted a single reference to a
site where her photos could be purchased, after several people
asked her to do so. I don't know, as I didn't see the thread
before (presumably) it was deleted.

And we have no reason to believe what you claim about your
occupation. As you said, fraudsters are very manipulative, which
is what you seem to be doing here.

Personally, as far as Danielle is concerned, I don't really care
one way or another. It isn't my place to second guess the guy that
runs this place. He was obviously convinced that she shouldn't be
allowed here any longer. It's his sandbox, he gets to make the
rules, and enforce them however he wants. If I don't like it, I'm
sure I could find another forum to read. As far as her photos go,
I liked some of them, and didn't like others, amazingly enough. I
honestly wasn't very impressed with the photo that seems to have
gotten her in trouble. A bit to over-processed for my taste.

Well, hmm. You've managed to help this thread over 100 posts pretty quickly, and you have a web link in your signature, too.

Oh, interesting. It's a dead link -- "Directory Listing Denied / This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed." Well, since you're in "information security", maybe that is an advertisement for your work, eh? :-)

I just realized that the Addam name is actually advertizing this site, which I only discovered by looking at his posts:

http://www.addam.org

and he's also on Saddam's payroll, look at this

http://www.addam.net

Not to mention that he's advertising domain names and adult pictures:

http://www.addam.com

Are you writing this down, Phill? Out he goes.

You've been following her like a little puppy for quite a while now. Give me some concrete advice you have gotten that has helped you in becoming a better photographer or getting a better understanding of a certain photographic concept. We have lost people in this forum because of her personal battles with them and her refusal to accept advice from people with much greater understanding and knowledge of photograhpy. I could refer you to several examples if her history was still available.
Why don't you do a search?
No thanks. I skip her threads as much as possible.
She posted about 200 posts a week for a few years.
Her posting record matches her photographic record. Heavy reliance on quantity.

My perception of what HE or SHE did :-

1. Persistently creating/replying to threads and creating messages
to build up trust and increase popularity, the purpose behind this
being to develop a trusted position on the forum and gain followers
/ visitors to HIS / HER website.
So she's talkative. Big F'in deal. So am I.
2. Frequent references to 'her' website that sells prints.
I have seen people linking to their photo galleries on Yahoo, where you can buy prints of pictures as well. Are they guilty of the same "crime"?
My analysis :-

Manipulating the forum for personal $$$ gain.

Is that clear?
Clearly paranoid. You need to relax and enjoy the forum. Stop worrying about someone trying to "gain followers".

Daniella provided a valuable service to me: when shopping for a telephoto lens, her pictures and comparison to the Canon 75-300 were a huge part of my decision-making process. As a result I have a very sharp, very cheap lens which I would have otherwise overlooked. She IS a valuable member of this community IMHO, if for nothing else but as someone who posts their opinions.

On the other hand, what have YOU done for this community? Despite what you may think, I neither need nor want your protection. I'm a big boy, and I can decide for myself who is trying to manipluate me. Just because you have a bug up your butt about Daniella doesn't mean the rest of us do.

You have done this community a great disservice. Next time, please keep your witch hunt to yourself.

It's not a big deal getting banned from a internet forum, but she might get in trouble with the United States Department of Homeland Security. Let me explain: I was doing a lot of reading and remember she mentioned about her immigration status in the US. Selling prints on her website may just get her deported because she mentioned not allowed to have other type of jobs (income) besides 3D artist. Violating rules set by the Immigration services is a big deal. I know a little about this because my brother in law works for the INS and he told me many interesting stories about US immigration.
I just realized that I haven't seen her posting for several days.
Maybe I just missed her doing so, but if not, any chance she is
having trouble again with her account here. I sure hope not.....

Well, the rules also state that offensive comments can get you banned. Calling someone a little puppy isn't exactly flattering, you know?
Don't worry. I'm not reporting you.

I can't give you all the examples in a single post, but here's some.

I posted some sheep that had a great composition but the picture was totally washed out. She told me that I needed contrast, and sharpening, and she even exemplified with my own picture which she posted.

Some other picturess of horses needed some light in the front, and she told me how I could solve that.

She taught me how to sharpen.

She taught me how to do black and white pictures.

She advised me on the best lens I have.

It really goes on forever. But all you have to do is search.

As for people leaving for having battles with her, I pity them. I once had a nasty battle with her about bullfights. Did we have to be enemies just because we disagreed? Come on, most of my friends are on opposite ends of my views, and that's what I like most about them: people with whom I can confront ideas.
Why don't you do a search?

Her typical reply to everything.... Contrast. And I've seen plenty of over sharpened photos. If you want a good sharpening technique just look at the one posted by pbleic.
Some other picturess of horses needed some light in the front, and
she told me how I could solve that.
If you can't see it, nobody can teach it.
She taught me how to sharpen.
Look above
She taught me how to do black and white pictures.
Are you serious?
She advised me on the best lens I have.
One day you might wish that you would have spent a bit more originally and not have to upgrade your lens at the same time as you want to upgrade your body. Your lens is the investment portion of your gear.
It really goes on forever. But all you have to do is search.
Like I said before, I'll pass.

So I visited Daniiella's site and then visited Adam's site and I can see why he does not like her. She is good isn't she. Very talented. Some men just cant take it when a woman is better at some thing than they are.
