You know you've gone too far

LOL! Yep, that's the boat I'm in now. I have pretty much all the camera stuff I need now. If I buy anything more I think my husband's going to toss me out. If only my skill level matched my expenses!! I guess I had better go take some more pics ;-).

me too LOL. I am just slightly considering either a 12-24 or
fisheye 15, possibly a lighter weight tripod for hiking--but I'm
not thinking TOO hard about them.

Hey Juli,

Known you a long time... back to the early 2100 days. I was sooooo jealous when you went to the D60. When you went to the 10D soon after I knew I had to have one :-)

How long till you follow Melanie's lead and bite-the-bullet on the MkII? You know you want one!

Well, I'm not the gifted photographer Melanie is, and I certainly don't have the money to make the move. I'd love to, but it will have to wait for another cycle or two. I'm paying off some of my L glass at this point with my IRS refund. You are right that I'd love a 1DmkII, tho.

Julie - Say it aint so!
Go back, grab a coffee and open it up again.
Or drink something else, you must be jes missing some spit! :-)

I'm going to BE AT B&H on Sunday for an all day photo course, (Joe DiMaggio & JoAnne Kalish) so I plan on doing some IN STORE
DROOLING :-) during the breaks.

I understand that's a fascinating place. Bring back some photos. Sundays are supposed to really be busy.

Oh, I'm sure I could find something to get, but I've already got the guest room filled with camera gear. You can't see the king sized bed for all of the bags of stuff.

Although I don't have Anything to justify this "need" But I'm working on a plan so I'll need them. I need to convice my girlfriend that I need to take a picture of common Kingfisher. and that My 70-210 2.8 with 2xTC isn't good enough:-)

I have a complete kit and no more cash to put into any new glass. Now I've returned to a previous hobby: firearms. I can afford just about any two pistols in the world for the price of one L lens. Maybe even 4 pistols per one L lens.

The only bummer is our one-gun-a-month law. I never had to deal with a one-lens-a-month issue!

I guess, since I have everything I need, I should just go out and do some shooting (with the camera, that is)?

And the horror of it is you could kill someone if you hit them over the head with some of these lenses.

BH has it all for sure. They grab all your bags at the door tho so I'm not sure I can bring in anything... maybe a little S400 point and shoot.
Wow on your gear bed... :-) My digital gear can all fit on a chair :-(

I have some light stands, three backgrounds, background stand, umbrellas, etc. that take up some space. I'm sure I could consolidate some of it.

I think a serious case for Lens Control could be made.

having to pass the store EVERY day

TWICE!!!!!

going to and from work....

if you think getting a catalogue is tempting, try working 10 minutes up the street!

pfffftttttt :)

Whether to keep my Bersa .380, nickel with wood grips, or to trade it in for a IMI "Barak" in .45, or trade in the .380 for a EAA/Tanfoglio .45/.22 dual slide/caliber pistol, or keep the .380 and get one of the others too.

Do I really need two pistols? No, especially if one serves both purposes, target shooting and self-defense.

As far as "entertainment" or hobby value goes, a pistol is just a very expensive hole punch, but they still have a certain appeal for their technical features and machining.

I'd like one for carry, especially when I'm in the more risky areas of town. My favorite spot, Belle Island, is a place where I am alone most of the time, but also a place where you could run across just about anyone from vagrants to drug addicts/dealers, to police out for a jog. Other areas of town, like Church Hill, that would be great places for some night shooting of the city-scape, are definitely off limits for the unarmed or unwary.

Now THAT'S a rifle!:

The PSG1 (Präzisionsscharfschützengewehr 1) Precision Sniper Rifle. This appears to be the standard by which other semi-automatic sniper rifles are measured. Ringing up at roughly $10,000 U.S. when they were still importable, the PSG-1 is a rifle system that if in your HK collection would rank you with the best.

Sporting a 25.6 inch cold hammer forged polygonal rifled barrel, the PSG1 has a strengthened receiver to minimize torque, the famous (and heavy) PSG1 fully adjustable buttstock, and a clip on trigger group with wooden handle adjustable for hand size. The gun comes as a package in an aluminum case as pictured below. The Garbini tripod is the final accessory, though many also came with a bipod.

For optics, the PSG1 uses a permanently mounted Hensoldt 6 x 42 with lighted ranging reticle for distances to 600 m. This gun is not for the slight of build. The rifle weighs nearly 18 lbs. It is sometimes incorrectly mentioned that the PSG1 was featured in the movie Sniper, being carried by Billy Zane. It is not. Can anyone tell HKPRO the first US action movie to feature the PSG1? Not too hard I would think. Maybe you can get it right: What is the correctly identified rifle used by Billy Zane in the movie "Sniper"?

How did you come to get one of these?
