Hello, I have been researching a V1 for awhile now. I'm leaning toward purchasing one since the price has dropped so. My only concern seems to be the white balance problem that I've read about. Seems some people have it and other don't. Other than that, I don't see any other issues concerning this camera. I realize that a new camera will replace this model, but I'm not one to buy the latest and greatest. Any comments from V1 owners? Also, will hitting the reset button remap any bad pixels on the ccd?
Thanks, Josh

Sometimes (but rarely for me) the V1 on auto WB in early morning light will be too blue-ish, but after a shot or two, it corrects itself.

I have one and the nice thing is you can set the WB and watch the light change in the scene on the LCD. Not perfect, but very nice.

Hi,

I'm an owner of V1 since Nov last year. The WB problem (blue cast) exists in WB Auto mode at indirect sunlight outdoor only.

Solution is to use 'Cloudy' preset or taking 'Manual' WB. The Manual WB is better choice.

And look at Phil's note about WB at http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/sonydscv1/page14.asp

Regards,
Vladimir

The battery sucks. I took mine back and purchased the 717.
I love the 717, and the battery last a good long time.

Well thanks for the comments, I own a Olympus C4000 and maybe I'll stick with it. It seems that they should make these things to take good pictures without any adjustment.
