My Bird Blind- a secret to close up shots

Hey cool bird blind. Could you come and build one in my yard? Good shot of the BCC. They are really fast and difficult to capture. We were trying for some the other day, got them, but nowhere near as sharp as yours.

Keep shooting, Patt :)

Nice. The bird shot is lacking deatail though, can't see how they figure that's sharp...

I think you are seeing mainly a difference in lighting but yours is sharp indeed.

That this is one of the most impressive tree structures I have ever seen! The floor structure and overall engineering is awesome. Hope you have fun with it! Too bad it is not portable, so you can take it to other bird locations! LOL

Well, I use this lil chickadee as my desktop wallpaper. I just set up the bird feeder across from the tree house and this was my first customer. I only had a 100-300 consumer zoom mounted and this image was resized from 4 MB in size to about 200kb.

It is not my best work but, but it is an excuse to buy a new white L lens, say a 100-400 IS?

By default, you did take credit. Please see the reply to your post by Duke Fleming.

Thanks, Rob, for pointing that out. I didn't like the comment he made either. It seemed a little rude. It's interesting that the picture was someone else's. There was an obvious difference in the conditions under which the two photos were taken, and so the comparison was not exactly fair.

No permit was obtained. However an inspector was here looking at other permitted work and expressed interest in looking at it. He asked for a tour and it was granted.

I did not have inside pictures due to lack of wide angle lens, but I recently got a 17-40L so I will try to post a couple of more later today. It is Winter and most furnishings have been removed till Summer. It does sleep 3 with built in padded sofa benches around three of its six sides. All windows open and it has a trap door with fixed ladder.

You are both morons, I saw yoru reply earlier but didnt want to argue, anyhow, I will now you are an idiot.

Now to this guy, you are an idiot. This photo lacks detail in the feathers... its due to the digital AA filter probably. details so minute, like feathers, get blended together and you get one sheet of colors, but the outer lines are sharp when you use USM, it's a problem with digital photography. If the filter blurs the data together, you can't get it back with USM.

Now get off my b*lls about it. I don't care what situation the shot was taken under, you should be able to see what you are looking at, not a sheet of tones on the bird...
