Romours abound, but thought you all might like to know that the most speculated about camera ever is about to be unveiled!

Canon are definately releasing specs for EOS 1D reolacement during or just before show.

Have confirmation that Canon Australia already have demo stock of new body on hand. Contact obviously can't release actual specs yet, but was willing to say it is very close!

Our friends here at dpreview probably already have a body for a full test/review. I'm looking forward to reading it!

as well as having buttons it will take digi pics...

it will also have the canon name on the front

it will be black

it will have a viewfinder

it wil cost more than £1 and less than £10,000

the specs and pics will be announced when canon are ready to tell all and not before!!!

I travel quite a bit in Europe and I must say that the Sweedes are button fanatics. Get into a taxi and just try to figure out what all the buttons on the dash are for. Of course buttons for the radio, buttons for the fare, buttons for the phone, buttons for the short-wave radio, buttons for the cd, buttons for the... Just when I think I have them figured out, I will see yet another matrix of 3 rows and 8 colums. Then there is this thing on the dashboard and all it has is buttons! I think the Sweedes simply love buttons and have made them a measure of manliness.

It will not have a shutter release button. Pushng to the front again, Canon, in the interest of shutter rights, has freed the shutter. The 1D-r's shutter will release whenever it feels that a decent shot presents itself. Of course, that means that the copyright for all photos taken by these cameras wil belng to Canon instead of the dufus who would normally have pressed the button. Another Canon marketing coup!

Also, will it have atleast two dials. I love dials as well. I would never downgrade from my 10D that has two dials to a camera that has less. More would be betterer.

Sorry, by show I ment the PMA, this is not a hoax as we'll all find out in a week or less.

I too love dials, even more than lovely buttons, and feel a bit ripped off here each time I pick up my "lessor" d-body, rather than my 10D!

Also my lessor body doesn't show over exposed sections of an image as blinking on the back screen, which I'm trusting the 1D-r will rectify.

Now I know some of you heros will suggest I go to the trouble of taking the light meter off my belt and actually using it, but seeing blinking bits is much more fun!
