even though i still don't have this baby completely wired in low light situations, bright or semi-decent light and it's everything i had hoped for. it's amazing when it cracks off five or six frames in the blink of an eye. needless to say, the surfers are really liking the shots. just thought i would share. ron.

Hi Ron

Nice action there Ron. You've really got the surfing thing locked in.

Do you sell the shots to the guys in the action? I would think they would really like seeing themselves in good form.

just wanted to let you know i really enjoy your shots..sure wish i was there by the ocean.....my d2h is on its way from indiana to ga...should be here on wed or thurs...now i need to decide whether to sell the f100 or the d100.....thanks for sharing your photos.....gary

peace starts within...

if you have to sell one, then sell the film. the d100 still has its place even with the d2h. i kept my n90s as well as the d100 when i bought the d2h. i haven't picked up the n90s in about two or three years. i still shoot weddings with the d100.

Man, you could do technique clinics off this stuff, you could see if he wiggled his toes wrong!

Can't wait till you get it wired in for boxing - the series from start of a hook through impact will be astonishing. How did they do it with the 4x5 view cameras? A Grafmatic back isn't that fast...

When you're running a series like this, are you shooting jpg or raw?

Make pictures, don't take them - it leaves more for others.

ed i know if i only have a bit of time, i'll shoot raw because they just seem to be better after all is said in done. if i'm there for an hour or two, i have to shoot jpeg fine because of card space. i have two 512's a 256 and my wife's 96. i know that i need to buy more card. would like a one or four gig but too expensive and i think there are still kinks to be worked out. as for the other generation that shot with speed graphics, those guys were very good. imagine shooting maybe 40 shots top per fight, probably more like 20. after every shot putting a new bulb in and turning the film carrier around. after two shots, putting in a new film carrier. geez, but what they did get was crisp and clear. why could they shoot bulb then and now we can't. were the boxers tougher then. i give nothing but credit to the generation that shot sports with the speed graphics. i shot with one in college and it was comparable to driving a model A to a boxster. the model A was one great car, but you know what the d2h, i mean boxster can do. right??

It's working like a charm for me too...love your surf shots, can't wait to get a good telephoto for surf!
