I can understand how frustrating it must be to plunk down 2,000 and get a lemon. That sucks. But what I dont understand is why all the folks who are having these problems just dont get a new unit that works properly. It is very clear that there are properly functioning E10s out there, I have one myself. When the focus is off I can see it in the viewfinder and I recompose or switch to manual. Maybe I dont ask enough of the camera. I am too busy having a blast printing out 13X19 photographs that would not be possible with any other camera that I could dream of affording. A D1 is out of the question for me and a D30 plus a lens and accessories stretches me too far as well. I would love to see more discussions of technique using the E10 rather than endless discussion of a firmware update that will be a long time coming. Just my 2 cents. Matt

Well I'm guilty of discussing these things - and I agree with you - I like your signboard shot. I'm still not totally convinced that the difference in perspective is due to the camera, or what you spend your time shooting.

Ger Bee f'rinstance, spends his time getting low light flash grab shots, whereas I (and I guess you as well) spend my time taking pictures in good light - with time to spare.

I also think that the discussions have taught a lot of us useful techniques.

I love my E-10, what I don't understand is if the directions say SM or CF, why is so many people trying to stick a Micro-drive in the slot....just because it fits? That's beyond me.............

Hey I don't need an answer, just making a comment

Yes, he (Scott) seems to have only recently "awakened" and has begun reading posts from about 2-3 weeks ago, and resurrecting them. This is all old news. Someone suggested that he read a bit before bursting into the forum with an attitude. Scott, please take that advice. K.

I don't know why this thread came up again, but it did give me a chance to see your pics. What type of post processing did you do. they are very sharp.

Thanks for the compliment David. Believe it or not I have only resized the wooden soldier no sharpening or color correction on either. The Radio City sign was somewhat altered in perspective in Photoshop but other than that and cropping it was unaltered. These shots are what hooked me early with my E10. I just love this camera.
P.S. 1:8 jpeg compression with sharpness and contrast normal.

-rest snipped-

I agree! Well said. It's like why bother to moan and groan (ad nauseam) when you should just either get a replacement unit or get a refund!
