Hi everyone,

Just found a raw converter with *istD support, SharpRaw.

A trial version is available here:

http://www.logicaldesigns.com/Imaging1.htm

but unfortunately it won't save anything until a license has been purchased.

I've just downloaded the trial and had a very brief look at it and my first impression is that it's VERY complicated. It also seems to run a little slowly on my PC, but has masses of options.

I'll carry on playing with it and let you know what I think (although not being able to save as jpeg or tiff and view the result externally makes it a little hard to evaluate).

If anyone else has tried it (or does so now) I'd be really keen to know your opinion of it.

Lots of D7 owners used it and were very impressed....
One of the best out there and well worth the cash.
May buy it myself now it has *ist support.

I'm just playing with this software now.

I cant say that I like it as much as C1 for Canon, but it's an improvement on the Pentax software. I dare say that it takes quite a while to fully grasp it's functionality, so I wont say it is, or isnt, good.

I do think it's worth investigating though. Biggest problem is that as a demo, it wont save anything!

Thanks, the software is good but should be a bit cheaper becaause it has some querks, some things not functioning properly . I could not load the right color balance even though I used istd-sRGB on the camera and as a default the image was totaly yellow. I had to adjust the balance manualy, add full blue. Also once I lost the sharpening options I could not get them back, load from the default. maybe a better help file.
It is a bit disfunctional, eg. mouse wheel scrols up quicker than down.

I will play with it however because it is much better shrpening than Pentax Software which i realy need.

Thanks again

I have downloaded it and am trying it, but it (trial) won't save any images, and there is no simple user manual that I am aware of. Looks as if it is very powerful...
