Can u look please (pic)

Very nice portrait Tany. The model and the situation are both excelent. I dont know much about portraits but I do notice a couple of things:
  • Was there some cloning on the left arm? I say this because there seem to be some rectangular patterns that dont quite mix well with the rest of the skin tones.
  • In my opinion you could maybe reduce a little of yellow or orange hue from the skin so it looks more natural.
Again, no expert here but those are things that were evident.

Good job.

... I would like to see a different pose...the pose to me makes her look slump shouldered and the skin tone is yellowish...at least on my monitor.
After all that being said I do like the picture.

Great shot.

Contrast on the right shoulder is a little hot. The transition from the highlighted shoulder to the next skin tone is too abrupt.

Skin one on the right arm is not continuous.

What was the camera, and does it have the ability to shoot the original in a "less" than normal contrast?

Sorry,

I see now that it was a C750 reworked in PS7.

BIG soft boxes will reduce the hot spot transitions, if shot within the diagonal of the box.

I like the pensive pose. She's a beautiful girl and it's a nice photograph. The skin tones look a little off to me, a little yellowish. Maybe it is my monitor.

I agree with Lucy. The skin tone is a bit off to me. The subject certainly is beautiful and I like the pose. Good job!
....but I too, am seeing very yellow skin tones......and it
detracts from the photo.

Beautiful lady. As already mentioned, there seems to be a color cast problem. The photo almost looks a year old...

You chopped the top of her head off. Would be nice to have it all.

Keep shooting,
David

.. I think the main problem is you've overworked it in Photoshop and you probably need to start over or retake the image.

For me, a portrait must start with the face. I think you've captured the eyes very well and a good positioning of the head. However, if you look at the upper lip you see a 'Got Milk' moustash, which is probably caused by overshapening. The forehead is very uneven in color and much too yellow in places. Overall, the skin color is not true and uneven in contrast. Also, the background looks artificial, too blurred and patchy in places.

The composition leaves me with a lot of questions... why is this model wearing that garb... is she a performer? why is she so pensive? The problem is that the composition doesn't tell a story or give enough clues to draw me in (even though I am a suck for a pretty face :). Maybe the background would give some clues if it weren't so blurred. I also think you've centered her too much in the frame.

The model is beautiful, but I think the image needs a retake. I'm sorry, I say this only to be helpful. -- LC

Tany I had to go back to your original post to see if I had misread it. Sadly, I had not.

This really bothers me. You steal someone else's work, doctor it in Photoshop and ask folks to give generously of their time and expertise to critique it as though it were yours ... what is your point?

I've no time for this, see ya. -- LC

Autum Sky... you made me go back to my orginal mail to see if I had made any such claim of owning the pic. Well had it been a steal it would have not shown up as orginal. But, you are entitle to your views and also your time.

However, I need to thank you for your views even if I don't agree.

Well I think it was obvious this was Photoshoped,,, just look at the lines at the shoulders and at the elbows.
The skin doesn't look natural also.

I personally think it is still a good shot tho, and a good job at editing it.
