Still have the camera...just been recovering from the flu bug, and I took the shot this year for the first time! :/ Go figure! Had to run a couple of errands today and had my camera with me (as always) so I decided to swing by the cemetary and take a look. I'm going to try to get spring and summer shots if I can. Thanks!

I like both pics. Beautiful! We don't get such a colorful autum here. Something that I wish we had.

Thanks Hide! That's one thing I have to say is great about the Ozarks...the colors in fall are phenomenal.

Liz,

I'm glad that you didn't ask me to pick a favorite. I might not have been able to do so.

I like the fall foliage colors, and even though the gazebo does not share those colors, it seems to be more part of its overall environment in the fall photograph. And I like that.

In the winter photograph, the gazebo contrasts more with its surroundings, even though its own color is not so different from that of the snow. And I like the contrast.

Perhaps I should be less wishy-washy...

My best regards,

Ed

Thanks Ed! This gazebo is indeed part of it's overall environment. I first photographed this old thing in 1983, right after I moved to Springfield. I won a blue ribbon at our local fair with that photo. I don't know if it won because it was a good photo, or because it was another snow scene, similar to this one and judging just happened to be on the hottest day of that year! I think it just made people feel cooler and that's why it won. ;)
