What camera am I NOT using now? hahahahahahah!!

I never actually had the F828. I borrowed it and did plenty of shooting with it. I like it.
What camera are you using now? Did you stick with the 828?

MY prediction for Andy once he has his dslr:

"He will regret buying the 828 instead of a 300 mm f/2.8L"

Remember, you heard it here first!
Hahahah... some things in life simply do not happen except in the imagination. For example, I don't expect to see Andy suit up in a veil and jewelry and do a belly dance. I also don't expect to see him regret the F828 either. :-)

Why people assume that having and shooting with the F828 must be a painful experience is beyond me. All I can recommend is that they try it themselves. :-)

Backwards, should be "Sony to back up the DSLR"
i hear your pain, and have felt some of it recently myself ;)
Nobody should suffer. Soon the pain will be gone.
I had the 828 for about two weeks now and took some wonderful
pictures with it and even wrote a post singing its prasies but over
the weekend I took over 200 shots of a hockey game and my daughters
tennis lesson and a brownie outing . The purple monster reared its
ugly head in over 60% of the shots I was very upset because alot of
the kids parents count on me for photos . well I thought long and
hard and sent it back to crutchfiled .......... I will now be going
over to the dark side.

I don't understand why Sony just doesn't take notice to all this..
it's not like it's difficult.. And pull this camera off the
shelves. Which will help put the people who want it feel better in
my mind. Since Sony will try to fix it, and then people can still
buy a Sony product. Instead I keep counting the people here who
are switching to another company. So Sony is losing customers..
left and right here. All because of their attitude.. and how they
won't take quick action to a problem. : (
What I've read and heard lately, (Forbes magazine, elsewhere) Sony's profit
has dipped ,I think, 59% over a certain quarter last year. One of the recent
trade shows overseas, had Sony with less products coming out in 2004 by

the appearance of their booths compared to "Mashushita" and "Sharp",their major competitors. The word is that Sony's head honcho

has failed to take Sony anywhere with new,and innovative products of late. Their TV sales has come down and is facing lots of competition such that they have had to ally themselves with "Samsung" recently .....etc.

And you think they are going to pull the plug on the 828 and be the laughing stock of their competitors? I don't think so.

Or hear about the indoor action shots and what led to the purple
monsters appearance. This is my question about the 828 -
suitability for indoor sports. If its not gonna work, then I had
better get a second job to justify a dslr!!!!!
Thanks

ann
Ann,

Sorry to say, although good shots have been taken with single lens cameras, if you shoot a lot of indoor sports with no flash, save yourself grief, get that 2nd and 3rd job, or better yet, sell your husband into durance vile, and get yourself a DSLR - it's what they were built for.

It's not the dSLR that will save her. It's the lenses.

Maybe. :-)

Sometimes. :-)

And, Yes, it just may take selling some things off, along with another job or two. Heheh...

Dan, please except my apologies for not posting images. Havent we all suffered enough? I need time to heal, I cant go through a 150 post thread arguing over the pictures , we must all move on ,after this post I will be off to a retreat to practice the art of HYcoo, and stare into space wondering did God invent purple as a joke or did he do it to us on purpose!

God will forgive you all, my children. But you must take 5 shots of contrasty sunsets and remove and install your lenses 10 times. Go in peace.
