I really like the look of the satin papers and was wondering what is the best one to use with a Canon S9000 printer? I tried Red River and was just wondering if this is the best.

I liked RR too, but was disappointed in its longevity performance in tests. I switched to Ilford and never looked back.

Which red river paper? I understand that the polar satin is a swellable polymer with similar characteristics to classic pearl without the 'pooling' problems? I use the ilford as well but do get some pooling...
Red River is my choice...

NO, Red River does NOT carry ANY swellable polymer papers. I asked them specifically via e-mail a few weeks ago. If you're getting pooling with the Ilford paper, you might try using a different setting. On my i950 the 'film' setting works for me. If you're into the glossy microporous papers, Sam's Club carries the Ilford Smooth Gloss 100 pack for under $24 (plus tax.) A real steal, IMHO. My understanding is that under glass both papers perform well. In the open the swellable polymer (Classic) is best but don't get it near water or high humidity! Also it takes just a bit to dry. The micros are pretty much instantaneous but must be behind glass for longevity.
