Mr Yoshida's FZ10 adapter examples.... ;o)

Making an adapter I wonder if anyone but me thinks it might be a good idea to put threads on the outside of the adapter so the Panasonic lens hood could be used. That would provide a hood and the Tcon would fit inside the hood. Just a thought, might be a reason that this is no good but it seems to me like it could work.

I took the lens hood after reading your post and slid it up on as far as it would go over the new adapter but it had vignetting in the corners. I don't know how far back you would have to go or if you could get it back far enough to get rid of the vignetting. I also took the lens hood off my old 35 mm camera which had 55 mm threads and screwed right onto the front of the new adapter. It had vignetting in the corners too but it's not flared out very much so a person might could find one that is flared a lot more and it might work. I'll look around and see what I can come up with.
Something to look into... ;o)

The B300 (and TCON-17) have 55mm threads. For the FZ10, you'll need the 1055B (black) or 1055S (silver), depending on the color of your camera. Mr. Yoshida's numbering system is logical - 10 for FZ10 and 55 for 55mm. So the 1062 is for the FZ10, 62mm threads. The 155 is for the FZ1, 55mm threads, etc.

And thanks, Jimmie, for posting the pics - I hadn't got around to posting sample pics yet, and you saved me the time. (Nice to have a retired person around... :-)

I have the B300 and soon the 828, I checked Mr Yoshida;s site but
can't find the adapter for the B300.

thanks
Peggy

I never gave that a thought , I figured it worked before the adapter it would work with the adapter. I never gave the extra length a thought.
I guess I can get a rubber hood but I really like using a flip down lens cover
Keeps me from losing the cover , Getting more forgetful every day.
Thanks again

Jimmie, Is there ANY way to use a wide angle lens( approx 28mm) and NOT get the lens end in the pic?? Is it possible to use (approx) 28mm and not have distortion, ie: fisheye effect?? Thanks JIM COLE
I took these photo's at the lowest resolution and smallest size
just to show the vignetting or none there of to save space on my
photo site and for quick loading. It works just as I had expected.
No vignetting at wide angle even with a UV filter on and no
vignetting from about 6 thru 12x with the B300. A little vignetting
with the TCON14/B300 stacked even at full zoom.... These are all
straight out of the camera so the EXIF data will show.... ;o)

Hi Jimmie, great examples as usual!! And that patient dog of yours. Such a sport!

I've been using the camera with the Yoshida adapter with a UV filter attached and aoccasionally the TCON17. It all works VERY well. I like the feel and heft of the cameral better than with the hood that came with it.

I have one nagging question:

Panasonic designed the lens hood to flare out, not in, as the adapter does. Do you think there might be some small lessening of picture quality because of the narrower opening? Not being a pro in any sense of the term, I can't tell. But perhaps others can.

Anyway, what say you, Jimmie? Or anyone else? Any thoughts?

Joan

Jimmie, Thanks for the answer. It ALL did not come thru. So if u don't mind.
1. Will a 28mm wide angle lens, BEND the corners of a room( barrel distortion)

2. Will the adapter lens BLOCK any portion of the picture. My G3 with adapter does that, and has barrel distortion..!!

I don't really know if the 28 mm lense will or not as I don't have one but I would think it would. Once you get down to 28mm's your almost into a fisheye lens and it will bend it on any camera. As for vignetting again I don't really know if it will or not as I don't have one that WA. Sorry I can't be of more help but I just don't use a WA lense..... ;o)

So you live in the sticks in Sooiee country... well so do I, just outside Hope. I'm gonna order the Yashida adapter too (and thanks for the info you've already given me about it). It will obviously take a few weeks to get mine since he is out of them until February 15. Like you, I too have the B-300. I got it about three years ago when I had my Epson Z1000... (gave that one to my niece... nice camera), but kept the B-300 AND the WCON that I got at the same time.

I'm really looking forward to getting the adapter. I took some pictures today of a wild gray fox who has taken up residence in the woods at our back yard. We feed him and he has become nearly tame. I can walk right up to him and he just stretches and yawns and waits for the grub. I'll try to get some of them posted. Hah! I sat a book on a window sill and held the B-300 in front of the FZ10, set the IS on Mode 2 and it worked! Will get some pics posted soon.
My stuff always takes longer. I guess that's what I get for living
in the sticks in Arkansas, LOL......... ;o)

The B300 (and TCON-17) have 55mm threads. For the FZ10, you'll need
the 1055B (black) or 1055S (silver), depending on the color of your
camera. Mr. Yoshida's numbering system is logical - 10 for FZ10 and
55 for 55mm. So the 1062 is for the FZ10, 62mm threads. The 155 is
for the FZ1, 55mm threads, etc.
