Hi everyone,

I heard that shooting by the seaside which has sea salt water mist can short circuit the camera. IS this true?

I had a kodak dx3900 camera which may have done that.

ANYONE?

I frequently take my camera with me to the beach. I have never had a problem with this camera or my previous one, but if you are paranoid(which you should be after such an investment) you may want to wipe it down with a cloth as the manual suggests or maybe carry around ziplocs to seal it away while it's not in use.

Thank you for that feed back, anyone else?

Dear Image: I live by the ocean and my Rebel is constantly exposed to salt spray...just clean it every time you expose it to the elements and try to never change lenses in the open (I retreat to the house or car) and you'll be fine.

I live by the Fraser River, which is tidal and foggy many times in the morning lately and have had no problems at all. I do take ziplocs along with me because I am paranoid.

Tracey ;-)
