Please post Oly 5060 photos

OK,I'll admit I've been shy about posting any of my feeble attempts.

Where is that thread that gave the detailed instructions for posting photos?
Thanks.

Phil (C5060 since Christmas)
I get worried when people are not posting photos compared to other
groups.

Well there are quite a few sites to choose from where you can download your photos to , from yahoo to pbase to webshots.com etc. Once you put the photos up there, just save the link address from address bar with your cursor ( with right click and copy ) the link to this post here . Try webshots whiile its still free , don't have to download their softwarewhen they ask , just go right to my photos and post a few. You are allowed a few photos for free posting. I look forward to your photos. I hear great things but don't see any photos.

If you search from November todate, there are dozen of good photos taken with the C5060, personally, I have posted drip shots, astrophotos, macros, comparative long exposure photos (with Sony V-1, in my case), and others have posted beautiful landscape sunsets, etc... Try..!

Wow Beatrice,

Those are quite nice! I love the sunset on the ocean, with the clouds in the background. I usually don't ooh and aah here, but the photo is very sharp, and shows lots of detail. Some noise in the sky, but I think the sharpness of the lens really makes up for it. Plus, there are plenty of ways to deal with a minimal amount of noise. I've got a 5050, and have been thinking about the 5060 (especially since its not hard to find for under $600US) for wider shots.

Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for your nice comments, I must say I was lucky to be there with my camera !

Can you tell me some of your best ways to deal with noise ? I have tried PS and Neat Image but I am not completely satisfied, I find it is always a bit destructive...

I have Photoshop 6, so I usually confine any noise reduction to the channel with the most noise, usually the blue channel and to a lesser extent, the red. I have the most problems on my 5050 with blue skies, and have never been able to completely eliminate that noise. Fortunately, it doesn't seem to be as much of an issue when printing.

If you have Photoshop, there are some free noise reduction actions you can download to work fairly well. Sorry I don't have any urls offhand...but if you search both here and on Google, I'm sure you'll find something.

Good luck,

Andrew
