Hi,

I a little worried about wearing out the USB connection on my F505 camera from the constant connecting/disconnecting.

how much are the Sony USB memory stick readers? Does Lexar make one? If so, how much do they charge?

Thanks

They're $49.02 at Onvia (a very reputable site). P/N is MSAC-US1. Sony makes a new product (MSAC-US5) which is a clever combination of a USB optical mouse (no ball, no clog, no skip) with a memory stick reader/writer built in. They are hard to find in the US but sonystyle.com carries them.

I'd pick up the Sony USB optical mouse/MS reader in a second if only it had the physical configuration of the Microsoft Intellimouse Pro (not sure of the exact name). I like the support that it gives to the hand. I work at my computer station practically all day and night, and I can't afford not to be comfortable. The new Sony mouse looks like it would feel just like any standard mouse.

I do like its features, however.

I had similar concerns as Stan noted. I was particularly concerned about repeatedly opening the USB access door on the F505V and the need to fiddle with the AC cable if I was going to be repeatedly accessing the stick. I thought the mouse combo would be a good solution.

I bought the MSAC-US5 and have installed it. I have found it's ergonomics to be clumsy and I have resorted to using it simply as a reader/writer without actually using it as a mouse (I am continuing to use my Logitech mouse).

Looking back, I would have been better off with the MSAC-US1 (reader/writer only).
I do like its features, however.

In my book,
I've been using only two reputable mouses.
for myself only Logitech and Microsoft.

However, I like my MSAC-US5 because two in one function

Dont't you know this two mouse can work together simultaneously?
Wow, I like this feature,...

For downloading and simple operation I've got my MSAC-US5
for convinience working long hours, I use my Cordless Logitech

Just my thought,
Erwin

As I indicated, I do have both working simultaneously - but the mouse functions on the MSAC-US5 offer no compelling reason to use it in favor of the Logitech. As you've mentioned, there both available and I simply am using their strengths.
