New S7000 Focus noise?

Hi

After using a Fuji S304 and winning a photo competition with the results, I have just treated myself to a new S7000.

When the camera lens focuses in S-AF mode it makes a strange noise that I can only describe as a "buzzing clicking noise". It focuses OK but I cannot remember the S304 making this noise. When it switches to continuous autofocus it makes this noise all the time.

Is this normal?

Also, has anyone any comments on the 2.2gb microdrives that are available for

The reports on them is high power draw and compatibility issues with many cameras. The Magicstor web sight states that they are compatible with the S602, but I don’t know anyone that has tried them with a S602.

Thanks for the reassurance. Ithink I heard the noise more with being indoors in poor light - focus working harder??

AFAIK, it is true. As S7000 utilizes continuos AF would continously focusing on subjects. although you are not taking any pics, as long as it stays on, you'd hear the noise it produces as a result of continously focusing.
