It's not about the equipments, but even the best photographer can't make a white wall interesting with a pinhole camera.

Really great pictures nice compsition. but i got two questions. The second one is really wonderful.
1. The location (country and City).
2. Which monopod ( I need a help to buy a monopod).

First off both are great pictures! However I thought the first one could be made a little stronger with a little more contrast in the larger tree. Well I did a quick job using the burn tool in photoshop (!QUICK) you could really burn in the tree much better from the original and taking some time (if you have photoshop that is) but I thought id let you see what I did.

I know the job i did is far from perfect, but i just wanted to show you what the basic idea was. The picture of the little girl is absolutely perfect, I love the shot.

oh and dont get me wrong I REALLY like the shot of the trees, which is why i took the time to show you what I thought might make it better, keep up the work.

Very nice. What method did you use to get black and white?

Today I went out and did my first real attempt of some landscape
shots with the Rebel. It was a nice foggy day and I figured it
would be a great day to get some interesting shots. Here are some
of the results:

1/160s f/8.0 at 38.0mm iso100 (kit lens), monopod.

1/400s f/5.6 at 300.0mm iso200 (tamron 70-300mm f4-5.6 macro),
monopod.

Thanks. I use PS greyscale to duotone filters. I then went through a few of the tritoned filters (grey) to find one that suited what I wanted.

Thanks for your comments. As for the trees I can see where you are coming from regarding the large tree. It was a foggy day so I wanted to keep the idea of the farther back you got from the camera the paler toned you were. I will give the burning a try to see what the results would be.

Happy New Year.

I posted a response for this thread, but somehow it didn't show up, so here it is again...

These are stunning shots, Rich, especially the 2nd one. You captured the expression of the girl so well in that shot...Very well done.
I liked the B&W conversion you did, too
