my first 828 pixs

Yeah, let's cut some slack for Rag ... before he shies away from posting any more photos in this forum. Nils probably DID get his F828, but decided that he is not going to subject himself to all kinds of abuse, insults, humiliation .....

So let's be a little more sensitive and respectful of people who are willing to come forward at the risk of exposing their vulnerabilities.
So, don't get offended at anything you hear. And don't get swept up
either, not until you are sure that this is the camera for you.
Enjoy it each step of the way!
And... Very many thanks for posting your shots here. They are
quite the diversion for this afternoon, aren't they? We're picking
them apart (not your skills, just the 828, in general).

Have fun with your new purchase.

Hahahahahahahah....
It might not be that Ulysses is colorblind. But, remember, he did
imply he was 62 years old, afterall. Can colors even be seen when
you're 62?

does seem to be alot of CA though. :(
I agree, does anyone else see all of what appears to be CA in the shots of the Beemer? I find this to be a great amount of CA for a T* lens. Feel free to flame away if you disagree. I think the cameras specs are awesome but I need a lot less CA then this.

Notice he hasn't responded ? Bet he is out having fun with his new toy.

We'll be seeing some great pictures when he get the hang of working with the new camera. The initial shots from an inexperienced (inexperienced with the camera, that is, not necessary with photography) hand are good enough. Plus many other features that he has not explored or shown us ?

Thanks Rag for accepting the most difficult role of a STF member. It happens once a year to a first person who gets the newest camera and you happened to be that "unlucky" guy! :-) So, don't be scared, just go out, take more pitchas and let every one beats that camera to death...:-)

Anyway Rag, these are my requests, Try some pictures with

1) Shallow DOF
2) Macros
3) Flash
4) different ISO
......

That's all for now Rag and thanks again for a great work. :-)))

Hello

I think this link will explain what Chromatic Aberation is to a T. Let me know if you have any questions.

Wait, don't quote me in support of that. I agree with your show of support for RAG, but I can't agree that anyone has been critical to him in any way. Some have been critical of the performance by the camera, but that's not the same thing. I think everyone here knows that he was taking some quick shots to give us all something to look at, he wasn't trying to be an artist or make them technically perfect.

Anyway, thanks again to RAG.

The horrors of chromatic aberration,
drove many to voice consternation.
Those colors not true,
so much violet and blue,
were the talk of STF's population.

-----------------------

The blooming was quite awful and gleaming,
Many photogs were sent ranting and steaming.
But with software so mean,
on Ulysses' machine,
his results were accurately redeeming.

-----------------------

This last limmerick remained unpublished a month ago (during that big Limmerick thread) when all we had to look at were those two first ugly pictures...

If you think I'm just waxing poetic,
or just rhyming now with low ethic.
for the pics we've just seen,
might need some vaccine,
'cause them ducks are still turning my stomach.

What are you guys TALKING about? There is absolutely NO problem

Not in the plants, not on the chrome, not on the Post Office truck,
nowhere! ;-)

New F828 name suggestion - 'The Black Phantom.'
http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1009&message=6852495

Dave you sound like a real genious! I guess we cannot have one thread without some moron metioning the infamous "Troll" word.

Mac
Hey, I own a Canon 10D, which--as everyone knows--kicks the 300D's
ss. No plastic glorified point & shoot for me. ;-) ;-)

"Mine is bigger than yours" foolishness aside, I'm interested in
the 828 as a more portable, compact companion to the 10D. I can see
taking it on business trips (carry-on luggage bulk is a real issue
these days) and using it for any occasion where an all-in-one
camera would come in handy. The 10D is terrific but sometimes
smaller is better. With the 828 I might even shoot some video
footage. Noise and CA aren't the big deals they're often made out
to be...I print my photos rather than stare at them on-screen at
100% res looking for artifacts. 11x14" prints I've made today from
828 shots look fine.

So don't worry about the 300D tyros. If any of 'em could actually
take decent photographs they'd be out using their gear rather than
trolling. 8^)

I'm surprised how many CA there are. On the light/dark border is OK but for example you can see purple fringing even on the edges of cars and background is NOT light. I had the same problem with Olympus 5050 (sold).

But it's hard to judge only from some sample pictures. I wish to owners of this nice camera that they can take many of nice pictures with it.
To be hones, almost every camera have some "weak point".

Actually, at that rez, you'll see it more readily than someone with a higher rez display, even on a CRT (that's what you're using right? not an LCD?)
Hey, I see it too and I use a 19" Sony on 800x600 res.
