my wife just told me she's pregnant of our first child... man!!! even having a 10D on its way cannot equal the feeling I have now. this is just SO awesome.... she's only about 5 weeks pregnant so a lot of things to come... just wanted to let you guys know :)

one word for this : HAPINESS :)
 
You could be hearing that announcement from BOTH girlfriends ! :-)

My wife and I found out about our first a couple of weeks before Mother's Day, so we were able to surprise our parents at that time...FUN!!!

He's due in 4 weeks!

Wife just delivered our first child (son) a little over two weeks ago.

Talk about a difficult model! Took me about a week to get a few decent pictures of him with his eyes open, not crying or feeding.

Congratulations to you too!

About taking pictures of newborn and without bashing our royal family: Prince Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands had a baby girl just last week, a new princess. He himself managed to take a picture and hand it to the press within a few hours after the birth. Now I now his family/father has always been interested in photography, don't know his camera but I think he can afford the best, he could have had some help... But on the other hand he had a lot on his mind I can imagine, and had just become a father for the first time...

I think we can all agree that he did a great job, both on the new baby and the picture :)
They are even going to use it for making stamps.

--Happy times ahead! I guess you will be putting some thought into what lens will capture the new child, some months from now. Let's see, low light so flash not needed, which one will you choose?

My wife just sprung the same news with me. A little bit of a shock, since we weren't planning on starting our family for a couple of years. None-the-less, I am getting increasingly excited. We are about 6 weeks along.

I guess this is going to put off that 500mm f/4 purchase...

I've been married for a couple of months now, and we are not expecting a baby yet, but I would really like to have a baby of my own now to take millions of pictures of he/she.
