Hi Chuck,

I was wondering exactly when the S10 sets exposure and focus
values when the ten second timer delay is used. The users guide really
never gets too specific here.

Is the exposure/focus set when the shutter is fully depressed
(activating the 10 second countdown)? Or should I be concerned as
with taking a normal shot and depress the shutter 1/2 way until
the exposure is set, then fully depressing the shutter.

So far, I've set the timer and simply triggered the "countdown"
by fully depressing the shutter button. I began to wonder if this is
correct or not, and if I have a full 10 seconds to recompose my shot
with the prior exposure/focus values set.

Thanks for your help,
Frank

The focus and exposure are set when the green or red LED next to the viewfinder lights up.

Because focus and exposure are determined at the beginning of the self-timer sequence, you are free to recompose at any time prior to exposure once the timer starts running, as indicated by the AF auxiliary emitter and the optional beeper.
