What are we all doing?

DougW,

Interesting to see what everyone does for a living. I am a CRNA, or for those who do not know, a certified registered nurse anesthetist. I'm one of 26,000 CRNAs who administer anesthesia in the operating rooms, outpatient surgical centers, and labor suites across America. Patient safety is our business!

So, I have to wait until I get home to check in with the forum. No surfing the net at work for me! LOL!

Cheers,

jim

Work for Michelin Earthmover Tire Mfg. where we make earthmover tires for huge dump trucks which can haul up to 275 tons. Some of our big customers in US are mining companies that mine copper and other metals. Anything that can possibly compromise the integrity of our tires from falls into my responsibility. Kind of like focusing problems, no, I won't go there. Find time to read and share with all of you from time to time here at the #1 website for digital photographers.....robby

Some of you, including me, seem to be on here quite frequently. I
think it would be interesting to know what kind of occupations some
of our forum members have. Maybe this will help to indentify others
in this forum who have similar interests. I am a high school

this forum trying to pick up useful information. There are many in

I am a web designer / graphic designer, so I will use the Rebel to take pictures for my customers to use in their websites and brochures.

When I was 15 years old, I had a Nikon F and 3 lenses, and my own darkroom (that was in the mid '60s). The Rebel is bringing me back to SLR photography after many years away.

I searched for and tracked Soviet Submarines during the cold war period using high tech methods in a pretty sophisticated aircraft...the P-3 Orion. It allowed me to travel to some interesting parts of the world, 32 countries in all....wish I had taken more pictures, and I definitley wish cameras like the 300D were around then.

Now, I'm working on my Master's Degree in Higher Education so I can teach college next year in my "old age" of 52. This forum is great for people like me...thanks to all who have helped me along the way.

i like to take pictures of all the pretty clouds :> .
That caught my eye as my son has just chosen his A level subjects (taken in the UK between 16 and 18) with a view to meteorology, climatology, earth sciences or the like. Can you recommend it as a career?

My career; I'm a web designer (technical illustrator by professional training) but I'm doing more and more photography. I'm contracted part time to a band and manage two sections of their web site and handle the fan enquiries this generates, manage competitions etc. My life is very varied and enjoyable. I get paid to go to gigs!

I study in Aalesund in Norway. I'm not shure what the english name of my study, but it's naval and machine development and design. I think I'll specialize in ship design.

In another post I have already praised your impressive curriculum.
I am engineer myself, and I can only admire your great work.

But one thing I am curious of. How do you collect royalties on the Caps Lock thing? Should I send you a penny each time I press it? ;-)
Or do keyboard manufacturers all pay you?

I am a prctising Gynaecologist in India. Always was interested in photography and would do my own dev and printing at home when I was about 15 with black and white. had a home made enlarger too. Never had the time thereafter and got back a year ago with a Dimage 7i. Now upgrading to a 300D next month.

The forums at this site are amazing, informative, entertaining and ADDICTIVE!!!

I got back into dig photography mainly because of my interest in computers but now am so deep into photography that I dont spend enough time processing the images.

I am 43, divorced, no children and live in Rome (which I believe is one of the best places in the world to live in).

I work for an international bank, travel most of each week and do my best to preserve "life quality" as much as possible (while my bank does its best to destroy it...).

Music and photography are my long term passions. In the high school days I was even able to develop and print B&W film (Durst M600 ?) - possibly digital photography gives me a feeling of those days...

Always loved to travel and shot hundreds of rolls (a Nikon Coolscan would help); started digital photography in late 2000 but sold my Nikon F80 only recently. Owned or borrowed a lot of digicams, from junk to funk and I am deeply convinced that digital photography is still missing that final bit. Currently owning a Canon Ixus (for friends use), a Nikon 5700 (biggest "undelivering promise") and lately a 300D, which I do not comment until mastered.

I do not consider myself a good photographer, even if every 100 shot I unexpectedly get a couple of very good pics - at least in my eyes.

I love this forum, even if I'd like to see more pics, comments and experience sharing and less complaining (but that's life, when you spend money you expect a delivery).

That's me (Canon Ixus):

Ciao,

M
