does anyone have any views on buying 'factory re-furb' didge cameras?

the coolpix 4300 is on offer at half price and I'm wondering whether it's wise to buy a refurb?

it's had good reviews as a camera....any comments?

The main thing I would look for is what warranty do you get with it.

I would be careful but make sure that there is a good warrantyif it exists.

I purchased a refurbished camera one time and it was perfectly fine, UNTIL I neded to print out some of the photos. Up until that time I had been only uploading them to my webspace but once sent to be printedk w hat I received back were photos that suddenly showed what appeared to be black lipstick on all of the peoples lips, men included. LOL

Not very attractive.
There wasnt anything I could do about it either.

Personally, that was my one and only time I will purchase a refurbished product! ;-(

I bought a refurbished Nikon Coolpix 885 for 2900 MXP (aprox 290 usd), it worked perfect for 6 months but one day it would be impossible to turn it on, it only had a 3 month warranty so i had to pay 1850 MXP (aprox 185 USD) to get another electronic board... now is working good again.
It took them 45 days to get it fixed since the spare is imported.

this is my story, so you just have to evaluate...
