Challenge 45: The Electric Connection

For this challenge I want to you take pictures of anything electric.

Broadly speaking, that’s anything that uses electric, such as household appliances, stereos etc; carries electric such as wires and cables; or generates electric such as power stations, dynamo or wind turbine.

You may have some other clever and cunning idea of how to represent electric. I just want you to present an image that has an obvious Electric connection.

If you choose to do something a little outside the box then great. The topic is merely a seed for your imagination. But ultimately, the voters will decide if your electric connection is good or not good enough to be on topic. Have fun.

I'll do a seperate thread after the booth closes at midnight (or someone else can as I'll be in the land of nod)

Despite our original 2 day voting plan, and as the booth is still open we have in fact had another 2 votes today, so it would be unfair to publish the results until after closure.

I have been very presumptious that I will win :) and I've set the next challenge to relieve the anxious.

I've plumped for the 2 day voting again, and perhaps we'll be in touch with Jack about changing the 3 days to 2 days in the booth shortly. We'll sort it our one way or another I'm sure.

Oh this is much better than Jingle Bells!

And I happen to live within spitting distance of three active power stations (The Cloud Factory is visible from my window) and there are a few more defunct ones around the valley.
Good choice of topic!

Challenge 45: The Electric Connection
Gee, thanks, ISO.

I've spent my entire photographic life avoiding such ugly distractions as powerlines in my pictures. Then you set the challenge and put a premium on them.

LOL.

I may not find much in my archives but I'll get a few into the eligible gallery!

Yay - just posted 3 images in the eligible category. I just received my A80 2 days ago and am already obsessed with it. Your challenge is really helping me get to know my camera. I also quite like the topic - there's so much you can do with it!

-Briana.

Hi Briana, and welcome to the CTF Challenges! These are great fun, and the BEST way to improve your photography skills. You'll also get to "meet" an awesome and friendly bunch of people.
And congratulations on your new A80. It looks to be a fine camera :-)
