Very nice photos and lighting! (I don't see a 10mm listed in your gear, which lens is this?)

I really like the rendering of the lens in this photo. I never got such a nice look from the 50 f1.2 when I had it.
Thanks!

I have the S lenses as well : 50/1.2S and 50/1.8 S: both these lenses are better corrected for sure, BUT I find the rendering of the 1.4 Z lens most beautiful!

It is sharp enough wide open , bokeh and rendering top notch!

C&C always welcome!

We had "Open House Chicago" past weekend where you could visit different buildings in Chicago. Here is Fourth Presbyterian Church:

Beautiful building. Is that the 14-30?
Yes it is a marvelous building. We have to thank the architects and artists for that. The architect for the building was Ralph Adams Cram and the Church was dedicated in 1914 and is still in it's original shape. The ceiling and other painting was the work of Howard Van Doren Shaw, and the wooden angel statues are designed by Cram and another architect, Frederick C Bartlett who also then designed the other buildings of the church complex.

I used the Z 7_2 and the Z 14-24 f/2.8 S at 14mm and f/5.6 handheld at 1/5 sec.
What are you using for post editing ?

Over time have gotten away from normal ranges, and enjoying wide, but more things to be mindful of...especially problematic when you cannot keep level due to limitations (space, elevation/access to balconies, time). Not optimal but making do with NX-studio...

I am on Photoshop (Bridge, ACR and PS). I like it very much, many prefer LrC.

For this image I started with the new Adobe Adaptive profile and then continued with normal edits, including removal of the keystoning with the crop tool in ACR due to that i had to point the camera upward, but it was level (not tilted left or right) and centered with the help of the camera's grid line in the viewfinder. It was easy here with the geometry of the church.

I also removed a half person at the lower end of the image. The remove tool in ACR and LrC is great. In this case it perfectly fixed the floor where the person was present.

I have not used NX Studio in a long time, liked the control points and I believe the the neutral color profile is quite accurate in colors when this is needed. Now I am more concerned about making the colors pleasing or whatever the image requires.

Very rarely do I Use DxO Viewpoint to correct the edges of extreme wide angle shot if particularly if there are persons close to the edge.

In this image I did not do anything particular to the colors, they are great in reality thanks to the architects and artists.
