Very nice, but for me slightly overcooked.

Joe, I am sorry but I just do not like this at all. Anybody can do anything with a computer graphics program but the result does not always please the (my) eye. Just a personal opinion. Other people may have a different view.

I kinda like this picture. For me, it gives no excuses and goes straight beyond a photograph to somewhere in the reign of abstract and surreal without bothering to look at the sides.

The orange waterlily (?) leaf in the lower left corner isn't quite optimal, though, as mit pulls my eye away from the flower that feels like the main point of interest.

Thank you Topi, I was hoping the leafs at the lower left actually led the eyes to the flower towards the center. I was pleased and amazed at how working with Lab processing did to the image. It did seem to help create an artistic interpretation of a particular genre, perhaps somewhat surreal and impressionistic, and Monet like.

Not too bad 'for an old Cowboy'.

Well, the "left" really was my bad; I meant the other left, i.e. right. The leaves on the left are OK and they do direct the view towards the main subject in my opinion.
