**This week with your Z camera, Oct 18-24 2025**

I really like your post-processing on these Voigtlander 40mm f/1.2 images. I think it does a good job showcasing its special qualities. Very nice shots, well-thought out.
The Voigtlander together with the ZF has some nice colours to work with I have not yet managed to get from other brands or lenses. But I do very little post processing. Less than 30 seconds per image.

Even better! Are you shooting RAW, JPEG or both? Are you importing/exporting from Nikon's RAW converter, or some other software? Is there a particular in-camera picture control that you're using?

I used the Z 7_2 and the Z 14-24 f/2.8 S at 14mm and f/5.6 handheld at 1/5 sec.
That is pretty amazing stability handheld at 1/5 sec. I wonder whether the OP has captured say 20 frames and picked the the best one among them. Still, it is difficult at 1/5 sec.
Thanks.

The in body stabilization on the Z7_2 does a pretty good job, rated at five stops, if I remember correctly. I had the camera at continuous slow shooting and it did catch three shots. This is the first, did not look at the other two anymore.

It may also have something to do with that I used to be a pistol marks man in my youth. Still have a pretty steady hand. I shoot pretty regularly at about 1/5s at 14mm.

We had "Open House Chicago" past weekend where you could visit different buildings in Chicago. Here is Fourth Presbyterian Church:

Nice capture. This is an image that needs to be blown up to appreciate the details. The relatively small image within the thread is not as impressive. I use a 32-inch monitor and when it is shown full screen, it looks great.
Thank you.

Agree wide angle shots with plenty of detail require to be viewed large. That's why I posted the image with the height of a 4k screen.

Beautiful building and nicely captured... looks geometrically perfect.
Thank you much.

I did make sure I stood dead center in the church and had the in screen lines visible so I could keep the camera straight an centered. That is required particularly for a extreme wide angle shots like this. Otherwise the wide angle perspective makes the image look strange. The Z 14-24 f/2.8 S is one of my my most used lenses so I am used to this.

It was also essential that the back balcony in the church was available which is normally not the case. As you can see I was at a level higher the the lamps. This way I had more of a central view and could get the beautiful ceiling more prominent, and I did not have to point the camera up so much and avoid extreme keystoning removal, which would have reduced the quality..

I always shoot RAW and use a preset I've made only adding contrast shadows and light for the best result. I also put it through Snapseed where I've over ten years came up with my formula.

While on my weekend MTB ride, I brought my Z30 with me to shoot some fall colors.

I tried not to interfere with a family taking pics with their baby. Unfortunately, I caught a little bit of it under the tree.

Nice colors. Is that from Michigan or near-by areas? I made a special trip to New England in the second week of October, i.e. earlier this month about two weeks ago, and the foliage colors were super disappointing. Back in the 1990's, I used to visit New England every October, and this year is by far the worst in my experience.

Thanks! Yes, this is from MI. It's from the Hines Drive/Hines Park scenic drive through the Detroit western suburban communities of Dearborn, Dearborn Hts, Garden City, Livonia, and Westland. The colors were super brilliant on my ride on Sat 10/18.

Yes, the colors here are disappointing this year.

Some trees have turned up good colors, but many have lost leaves already. Lot of dry trees overall.

I just can't get over that church interior.

Thinking about it what an awesome project it would be to photograph the world's great sanctuaries and display them at home.

We need a canoe to get to our secret place in the woods on the other side of the lake which you cannot drive to. It's a majestical spot with chantarells everywhere :)

Great colors and composition! And taking the Zf on an outing in the canoe is not for the faint of heart!

This is Sachee, our 6 year old Norwegian Elkhound, who we have had for almost 5 months. He is turning out to be a wonderful dog.

There were no other structures here. I did not see signs of a gas pump. But the brickwork was interesting and I liked the browns against the blue sky.
