Since I last owned a 43 (Oly 610) and M43 (Pen f1 I think it was and Panny GX1). I swapped some kit with MPB and got myself an O-M1 with 12-40 f2.8 mk 1 and a 40-150 f4. All came yesterday and with enough battery power to go for a walk along a local estuary. A couple of pics from that

I liked the last one so did a quick upscale to 8000 x 6000 on my iPad with Affinity, so I'm sure this can be improved on, and made a square crop

After that one outing I think I'm hooked. I'm really enjoying the size and weight difference and the quality looks impressive, both of the camera kit and the output. I really enjoyed the platform for wildlife shooting, so will be looking at a longer solution to that soon. Happy days

Welcome back! I recently did the same thing, from Sony APS-C. Although it was a good system with excellent results, I never enjoyed using it as much as I used to with M43. My new (used), large, heavy, chunky G9 feels like an old friend and takes nice photos.

I recognised your name Andy, couldn't for the life of me recall. Thereafter read your forum posts. Ofcourse Dpr Medium Format forum where we interacted briefly.

This M4/3 forum + Dpr Medium Format forum make a neat combo for me. This m4/3 forum possibly the most encouraging on Dpr.

Thread : 🎉 Positive reasons to participate in this Dpr m4/3 forum.

Gfx 100Rf + M4/3 makes a terrific compactish combo. Both being 4:3: ratio as well.

Photography after all is interplay of light alongside perspective.

Hi, I did see your name as well. I used to use Fuji X cams, but decided to go a bit smaller for a variety of reasons, so far very impressed with the OM kit I've picked up. I can certainly see how it complements the GFX cameras, and just playing with the files, how far they can be upsized for large printing

Really happy so far, and looking forward to getting to know people here

Andy
