Ok, it has been a nano second since we discussed the XPro4

Still looking forward to the XPro4 - hoping it comes in the graphite option like the xpro2 did.

40mb sensor with IBIS

Put in a 65:24 crop

use the screen from the xt5

EVF of 5M

Next gen AF (here's hoping)

I could live with the film sim dial (not really that important)

Am I the only one hoping?

Surely not. ;-)

I'm only an interested bystander rather than a potential customer, but in addition to your list I'd like to see a return to the dual-magnification OVF from the X-Pro1/2. It seems to me that removing this was a bit odd as these cameras are quite likely to be used with wide angle lenses, aren't they?

No, there are thousands exactly like you. Personally, I have given up on the X.-Pro4. I use the X-E5 and X100VI instead. The camera will most likely be $2500-3000 when and if it comes.

Times have changed since the XPRO3 hit the shelves!
We already have the XE5 and X100VI.moreover the fullframe prices have come down relative to APSC which makes the added value of a next Xro camera very hard to justify!

the real diehards will buy it though!

Guess I'm a real diehard. I love the X-Pro3's hybrid viewfinder and enjoy shooting through the OVF with my 23mm lens. The XE line doesn't interest me because it lacks the OVF, and the X100 line doesn't interest me because it doesn't support multiple lenses. I loved the X-Pro2 before upgrading, and will upgrade again from the X-Pro3 when the X-Pro4 arrives. Until that time, I'm content with the X-Pro3.

I am convinced that Fuji will continue the XPro line, after all it is one of their flagship products. The OVF and premium finish still distinguishes it from XE line. I am quite happy with the XE5, much better than previous XE cameras, and with improved build quality.

There is room in the X ecosystem for Xpro, bracketed below by XE, and above by GFXRF.

What I'd love the X-Pro4 to be :

GFX100RF body but shorter in height, with an X mount. (same aspect ratio dial etc, but no film sim dial)

dual magnification OVF like the X-Pro2 (not hopeful of that happening)

5.76M dot panel for the EVF

simple tilt screen like on the GFX100RF and X100VI

IBIS

NP-W235 battery

40MP sensor

double card slots

weather sealed

Don't really care about video, but keep at least a 2.5mm mic jack. I have used my X-Pro2 as a 4K video camera several times when I had nothing else on hand, and it worked fine as a backup solution, I'd hate to have to use external sound, or worse, built in mics.

and a $3500 price tag I guess.

That's basically just the specs of the X-T5 with an hybrid EVF/OVF incorporating the panel from the X-H2.

I don't think I mentioned anything ground breaking here. The GFX100RF is expensive because of the sensor and because it has a lens build in, the X-Pro4 wouldn't have either of those things.

Which full frame cameras do you believe to be analogue to the Xpro?

Like the RF, the XPro appeals to a limited market. $3500 might be the high end of the range, but it wouldn’t surprise me.

Ok, so do you think with a $1600 X-E5 the next X-Pro4 won´t go up in $ even without your dream specs? It´s a higher res EVF than the X-T5 and you want it built into a hybrid OVF/EVF combo with dual magnification? In today´s cash, I don´t think I am far off if you want that.

The latest M11 with EVF and of course, that is even imperfect at $9000. I always love when people dismiss what makes cameras like the X-Pro unique in favor of something as pedestrian as a FF sensor.
