Hey,

New to Panasonic and had a question. There is general uploaded Luts you have placed on the camera and Luts can be part of a Photostyle as well.

Obviously if you attach the Lut to the photostyle you can more control, can adjust items and apply more than one lut. What's best practice for photography, attach every lut to a photo style or just upload them and switch to them without a photo style. Seems redundant and confusing.

Thanks,

Greg

If the camera supports Real Time LUT, then this is all done in the background since the LUTs are tied to the Photo Style its designed for.

If they're "side loaded" or if the camera doesn't support Real Time LUT, then the LUT can be applied to any photo style in the camera.

All of the new cameras introduced after the S5II support Real Time LUT and LUMIX Lab which lets you use the app to download matched LUTs that will trigger the correct Photo Style to be used as the base for the LUT.

Using the "My Photo Style" options allows you to have additional control over how the LUTs are utilized by opening up the ability to layer 2 LUTs and adding things like grain effect in the camera.

As for best practices, there aren't really any since this is a creative tool. For many, just utilizing the Real Time LUT function is a simple / quick way to get the result someone may be looking for.

For someone who wants more control to fine tune or tweak the output image with a more complex look, utilizing the "My Photo Style" option is available.

Hope this helps!
