And I never said otherwise. It means something in his area of expertise. It does not make him an authority on every single aspect of photography.Well....he's pretty well known and borderline famous in his field. He's not some old guy clinging to old ways. He's using top level gear including Sony Venice cinema bodies in his business.Well, there we have it. The guy with the biggest boat says it's SILLY! End of debate.I don't think he'll be passed by. He's top shelf and his yacht is larger than mine and mine is 43 feet!

That level of success does mean something.
It has a LOT to do with it. New tech doesn't always build talent. In fact I'll say with complete confidence that it's often the opposite. And that has to do with raw pre-capture... how?Now this does not directly apply to this discussion, but most film historians agree that the best film editing was done on old movieola's and NOT the insanely efficient editing systems we now all use. I can't even imagine working that way, surrounded by thousands of strips of film (though I did it once).
I'm sure Annie has some views worth hearing.Again, being a person recognized in his field of sports photography does not make him anything of an authority on wildlife photography.Does that make him right? Of course not. And he can afford to die with his opinion because it's backed by a level of accomplishment that few attain.
I wouldn't hold his opinions on wildlife photography any more than I would take Annie Liebovitz's opinions on action sports photography.
I thought we were here for dialogue, ideas and discussion. There is absolutely nothing hostile or provocative in this dialogue unless YOU want it to be. I didn't wake up this morning, make breakfast, walk my Cavapoo and wonder, "Gee wiz, how can I provoke Mike today?"Sure... but then why create a provocative subject title line like "RAW Pre-Capture is SILLY?" I suspect you are tying in that often asked for feature with your other recent post asking about the Z9 II.Anyway...just a discussion...not an argument here.
As for the other well considered responses, thanks!
