Curious as to what colors are most popular on here regarding Fuji cameras. I know there are various colors depending on the model, so I'm going to keep this rather simple.

I've got
  • a black X-T5
  • a silver X-T5
  • a black X-E5
  • a silver XT100VI
So, how do I answer your poll?

Alan

That's good enough. I guess I forgot that some people have multiple bodies with different styles, but this is sufficient.

Been looking at the X-E5 to be honest, and am leaning towards the all-black version, but silver one has it's appeal too in some respects... and in some cases the black/silver versions particularly of the ranger finder cameras, look perhaps a bit more "normal" to me versus the all-black ones, maybe just because a lot of the old rangefinders (film ones) tended to be black/silver or similar color scheme that I've seen although I know some pros like all-black cameras because they blend in more.

X-E3 and X-T20 with "silver" (actually, aluminium) top and bottom plates (rubber is black, anyway), and a pair of XF F2 "Fujicron" lenses in aluminium finish, too. Unfortunately, my other lenses were available only in black finish. There are two reasons for that: the first is aesthetic (I like this "vintage" look; it reminds me of my old days with film cameras made of metal, and people react more friendly to the vintage-looking cameras), the second is... the Sun. Cyprus is famous for its ~325 sunny days a year, and the midday sun is harsh. Cameras can easily overheat, so the silver finish can potentially (in theory) reduce this influence.

Depends somewhat on the model, the black painted cameras seem to hold up better than the silver painted ones, but the solid aluminum topped cameras like my X100V aren’t painted and hold up great in silver.

Yes I had seen that and sort of wish for the price, they weren't painted (the silver ones, and the more expensive bodies). Of course the cheaper ones like the XM-5 and XT30 are fine painted because those are cheaper cameras.

I own a silver topped X-E3 but I have also owned and sold an all black X100f and a graphite/black X-T30.

I've got an all-black X-E5, all-black X-M5, and a graphite X-T50.

I've always bought black Fuji cameras. The X-T50 I bought used for a bargain price and didn't have a choice on colour. But it's absolutely gorgeous and that's actually the main reason I kept it after buying the X-E5. I was intended to fund the purchase with the sale of the X-T50 and my X-H1 but just sold the latter.

If the X-E5 had been available in graphite I'd have bought that.

Yes there's more to a camera than looks. But I love my graphite silver X-T50.

I always buy Silver (some people call it Panda) because I've shot black DSLRs the last 20 years and I wanted a change. Fuji delivers that retro feel without asking for Leica money.

Personally, I think some bodies look better on a certain color. The silver X-Pro3 doesn't look right, but the Dura black looks awesome. X-T5's look great in black because the white numbers on the dial stand out more vs black letters on silver. If I'm gonna buy an X-E5, it has to be silver, so it looks like a Leica M. The X-T50 looks great in any color (silver, black and graphite).

Hum, you don't allow for multiple answers. My first X-T3 was silver and black. Then I got an all black to tell them apart. With the X-H2s I did not have a choice so both of them are black.

I was kind of thinking the same way. I have an XT30 but had thought about maybe getting the X-E5 instead (and perhaps offloading the XT30) but the silver/black combo would be a good change (my other cameras are all black, and sometimes I too find i a bit boring, but then again, I guess the looks of a camera only matter so much, at least to me).

Yeah sorry I didn't know if that was an option when setting up the poll or not and realized that some or many may have multiple cameras with different color schemes. I guess what I was thinking when i wrote it was more along the lines of "did you use/prefer all black or something else".

Black X-T5, as I didn't like the silver on that particular camera. Felt a bit cheap. Otoh, I like how the silver looks on X-E5 and X100, and would probably choose that if I were to buy one of those.

wish fuji would add some more body colors outside of silver, black and grey, my very first fuji cam was the X-A7 in camel brown and i thought it looked great for a entry level model. Even Panasonic got that right with the S9, so many coluor choices.

I currently only have black cameras :

- black X100S

- black X-T1

- black X-Pro2

It's not that I'm against the idea of any other color, but it wasn't something that came to me. I bought my X-T1 years ago from a guy, mostly because it was one of the cheapest around that wasn't compleltey trashed.

My X100S was the only one in its price range (matter of fact it was "broken" and I had to fix it). I also had a silver X100 a couple of years prior and I remember not liking the silver paint finish very much on it, felt too much like silver paint on a plastic toy)

I would have loved to have a Graphite X-Pro2, but the prices of those cameras are through the roof (almost to X-Pro3 territory), and I don't mind a black camera so I went for a near-pristine black model instead that was half the price of the cheapest Graphite model I could find.

I have other cameras in other systems as well, and while I have black cameras there too (like my black E-M1 mark II), I have some other colors, like a Titanium Oly E-M5II, Silver Oly E-M10II and silver Lumix GF7 (I don't think those ever came in full black though...)

Yeah I agree on the XE-5. While I iike all black camras in general, I feel that for the X100V and other range finders, the black/silver might be the way to go.

my X-H2 was only available in black but if they had made a graphite version I would have gotten that. I think that would be very handsome.

All black X-T5.

Black - silver X-T5.

Black - silver X-E5.

I have mostly black ones, though my X-M1 is silver. If I got the X-Half, I would definitely go with the graphite, and I could also maybe be tempted by a graphite X-T1.
