Thanks, I ordered one. And thanks to a 10 % discount code, the GR IV only cost me € 1215 (instead of the regular € 1350). Nice.

Is that discount available for general public? Thanks, I ordered one. And thanks to a 10 % discount code, the GR IV only cost me € 1215 (instead of the regular € 1350). Nice.
To be honest I don’t know if I got it offered due to my existing account at the Ricoh store or not. The code popped up while I was navigating the Ricoh store. It was called GRAB 10 NOW followed by an 8 digit alphanumerical code. The code only worked once – I already gave it a second try. Sorry …Is that discount available for general public? Thanks, I ordered one. And thanks to a 10 % discount code, the GR IV only cost me € 1215 (instead of the regular € 1350). Nice.

Just give it a try. Maybe also browse around the store a bit. I wanted to add an additional battery and maybe other accessories to the GR IV already in my cart. None of the accessories for the GR IV was available yet, but I got the discount code offered instead. Well, not a bad deal either … Good luck! Thanks for the tip gonna open another account with them! Yes a bit jealous when I have paid full tote odds for a pre-order in the third week of August for a camera that there is no sign of delivery yet. But I expect something might happen and they might even throw in a "party bonus" for being an early adopter off the rank. Nothing asked for and nothing promised. My GR came with a complimentary red dress ring in the box and another red ring said to be for a GRDII which actually fitted my original GRD and is regarded as quite rare. I think CR Kennedy must have known that I had a GRD from way back when. Thanks, I ordered one. And thanks to a 10 % discount code, the GR IV only cost me € 1215 (instead of the regular € 1350). Nice.
Mine was shipped by Ricoh this afternoon.
I've just seen an email that mine was dispatched today. Likely to arrive in the next few days.Mine was shipped by Ricoh this afternoon.
I think I've made a stupid mistake. Last time I ordered a GR from Ricoh it was pasted from within the UK. As the cameras were listed in UK sterling, I assumed the same would be happening this time. ButI now realise it is coming from Germany – which probably makes me liable to a huge VAT-import chargeI've just seen an email that mine was dispatched today. I think I will put it in 4:3 mode in memory of Harold. I wonder what he would have thought of this version.
Glad to see that you are still here Tim. Last time I noticed Harold he was advocating multiple focal length versions of the GR if I remember right. Or was it the GXR clip on evf getting ripped off its ratchet whilst being extracted from his bag?I've just seen an email that mine was dispatched today. Are you able to say any more about it? I’m also considering buying when in stock. I’d appreciate any feedback first, tho.The first units finally started shipping. I ordered my GR IV via the Ricoh online store Europe and received it today. Very nice so far.
I had a look at your flickr site I can see why you use a ricohMy initial impression shooting bands in a bar is that it is better than the GR3 in lowlight high ISO situations. I was using snap focus so can’t comment on autofocus.
I generally use my Sony cameras with 90mm or 50mm or both, with my Ricoh for wide angle shots. Sometimes pressed up against or near the stage, the Ricoh becomes my main camera.I had a look at your flickr site I can see why you use a ricohMy initial impression shooting bands in a bar is that it is better than the GR3 in lowlight high ISO situations. Since I just recently got it, of course I didn’t have that much time for shooting yet. So it’s all based on first experiences:Are you able to say any more about it? I sold my GRiii street recently anticipating that the used market would drop when the IV hit, so I tried to get max value for it. I probably did well with that decision assuming the IV is an upgrade in AF and lower light shooting.
Very interested in your thoughts on those (AF, lower light) if you have tried it already.
Thanks
Ricoh have just confirmed that they pay UK VAT upfront. So no worry of extra import costs in the UK.I think I've made a stupid mistake. Very apt. Maybe we should all have a Harold 4:3 day, once a year...I think I will put it in 4:3 mode in memory of Harold. I wonder what he would have thought of this version.

S-AF is much faster and accurate now, also better in low light situations. I like that. C-AF and tracking also got better, but still no comparison to some other modern cameras (like my Nikon Z system). Guess I won’t use these modes.
High ISO files look a bit less noisy, but I have to shoot in many more situations for really being sure about that.
The image stabilizer works about 1–2 EV more effective for me, which is fine. I can now easily shoot at 1/4 sec. and get perfectly sharp photos 100 % of the time without checking. Might even go down to 1/2 sec., but need more testing for that.
I also like the optimized grip. The front grip got a tiny bit deeper due to the slimmer body and the thumbrest in the back has a noticable ridge right next to the new +/- rocker switch.
The new control elements, 4-way controller, back wheel und +/- rocker feel like an upgrade in quality and usability. Very welcome. Having the Sn mode right on the mode dial is a good idea.
In general the GR IV is a bit faster in everything it does.
Can’t say much about the new battery or lens yet. It also features quite a few minor upgrades like an automatic brightness adjustment for the display, a focus limiter, new aspect ratios, etc. The 53 GB internal memory are great of course. Connection with the new GR World app also works nice and fast. Guess I will use that more often now due to the internal memory.
So, I already enjoy many upgrades of the GR IV, but need more time with it for a final verdict on some of its new features. I definitely like it and also hope for a GR IVx soon.
