Welcome to the Weekly Image Thread!

This thread will appear every Saturday (GMT). If the thread is nearing full before the next Saturday, I may start a new thread and carry on until it fills or the next Saturday arrives and it is reasonably full in which case I will start another. Confused, so am I! From time to time the start could be delayed if I am unavailable.

Although this Weekly thread is in the Olympus SLR forum, we openly welcome users of all brands and models.

Please:

  1. Reply to this post and change the TITLE!
  2. Please reply to at least one other contribution, your replies encourage posters!!!
  3. If asked, please share your processing techniques or technical details.
  4. Please show the EXIF if possible. Please identify the lens used regardless of which camera was used to take the image. This helps people form opinions of the lens used with the body to possibly influence future acquisitions.
  5. If special lighting was used to create your image stating what was done may help others.
Thanks for joining and contributing this week.

Long, long time ago I gave my aunt a small vessel as a gift. I have recently rediscovered it among my possessions after she passed away. I still admire it for it's intricacies and sheer beauty.

Great shots and amazing colours.

That is very nice Chris. Colourful and well formed. No doubt a reminder of your relationship with your aunt. I don't think there is much of that type of thing in our home that our children would want. A couple of paintings perhaps but I suspect the rest of the items will be sold.

The wooden work is very well done and some outstanding. Not something we collect though Pete. I am not sure what the market is like for wooden wares but that particular craftsman has been displaying works in that gallery for as long as I can recall, twenty plus years!

Looking at that last image I just realised that there was another pot there that I had no noticed, similar in colouration to the 'copper' toned one earlier in my post. That one also might have made a trip home with us. I should survey the premises and see if we have a spot to display some thing else. Not much room on the walls any more for paintings!

I have always had a liking for Lotus automobiles Gary. Long ago I tried to talk a local car dealer into selling me his Lotus Elan, red. Unfortunately for me he declined the offer. Later I had the opportunity to buy a disassembled original Cobra for $10 000. I chickened out because I did not have a garage suitable for the work to reassemble it at the time. Now that was a missed opportunity to make a fortune! My wife later insisted that we her a red Miata. She drove that for eleven years. The brakes were original to the car when we traded it in, but in need of replacement with over 100 000 km on the vehicle. Other than tires it had one oxygen sensor replaced in those eleven years. Amazingly reliable!

Four of the critters wandering out of the ravine last night.

They must be fairly tame Gary to get that close. We get them on the property but the closest I have been to one is on the other side of a window as it was on the front porch. I did not want to spook it so I was careful not to let it see me.

Andrew.

They're quite tame.

I've walked right up to them, but they don't flinch.

A simply beautiful location Dave. It’s nice to see the heather in bloom and the grass so green. We’re only a few hundred miles from you here and the grass is yellow and the leaves on the trees are brown. I can’t remember a year when I’ve had to cut the grass so little.
