Nikon Refurb Sale Active - Pre 9/1 Price Hike

Z6 = $1151.95

Z6II = $987.97

Any thoughts on why this might be the case other than the obvious - maybe the Z6's have far fewer clicks than the refurb Z6IIs?

Best not to ask those kinds of questions ;)

Cost basis? Returns from deep-discount sale prices so they don't want to take a bath on the Z6? The only person who knows is the bean counter at Nikon who put those prices up.

I assume Nikon USA has a lot of refurb Z6ii to move, probably as people upgrade to the Zf, Z6iii, and Z5ii, hence the deep discount, while they might not have a whole lot of the original Z6 left. If they cannot move those Z6, they'll discount them further.

MPB has a Z6 in Excellent condition with a shutter count of 5,058 for $794 and they have one in Like New condition with only 203 shutter count also for $794 and they have a standard 6 month warranty. For someone looking to just jump in and/or for a second (or third?) body these are great deals.

Just checked my Z6 that I bought as soon as it was available in November 2018. I have 12.6K actuations on it. Guess I can't get much from selling it, but I am planning to keep it, anyway as an extra Z body to have around.

I would not be surprised if they are experiencing higher than normal volume.

Ditto, I cleared all the Nikon cookies and restarted my browser. Fine after.

One of my Z6's is on it's last legs. Z6II on the way to replace it. That is a lot of camera for $978!

Plena was available, also 85 1.2 S, 100-400 S, 180-600, 24-70 2.8, 50 1.2, 35 1.4.

Snagged a bunch. Nice.

I have a 600mm f6.3 on order. :). $3,715

I'm so excited!

I know the 180-600mm is less expensive, but the 600 f6.3 is shorter and lighter, and when you are in your late 70's size and weight, and not needing a tripod are Very important.

Congratulations! I'm still young and hardy so, 180-600 for me, although I also ordered the 100-400 to replace the Tamron 50-400 I had. Even though there is quite a lot of overlap I suspect fundamentally they are different lenses for different purposes.

I think it'll be the 100-400 for general hiking, and 180-600 for slower more measured shots.

Or maybe we'll just take Plena for hiking.

I honestly though they would have pulled the original Z6 and Z7 from sales by now and only keep them for internal use or if someone sends in a damaged one for repair. But even so you'd expect the Z6 II to be at least a little more than an original Z6.

I have both.

The 100-400 is also better tuned for people. I shoot a 24-120 and the 100-400 these days at events.

The 180-600 is now glued to my Z50II, what a awesome wildlife combo. Expeed 7 makes the auto modes work, Well.
Or maybe we'll just take Plena for hiking.
It is next on my list, or the 85S/1.2, in 2026. I shot a 50mm1.4G on a DX body (2005-2012ish) for so, so long, I see in that focal length, the 85 may win.

I understand completely. I bit the bullet on a refurbished Z5II because of the price.

In spite of my dislike for the rear screen, I am trying to buy the Z5ii. Per usual, the site can't complete my order. I will call them in the morning.

Where did it get stuck?

I bought a Z6II today and it failed the credit card processing the first time. Had to ok with my bank. (Happens in 30sec with text messages to the bank) Second click was no issue, I did not even have to start over.

Think Nikon plays it safe with the CC processing. They do the same with shipping, over some $$ they require an adult signature.

I ordered two items from the refirb sale today at 2:45 Eastern. They both shipped and will be here tomorrow! (Located in central Ohio)

Put one in the cart to see if it was in stock. Guess what, it is such a smoking deal, you can only buy one!
