OMG,FUJIFILM NP-W126S is $96!!

Can only chime in with Wasabi and Smallrig as those are the only 3rd party batteries I've owned for my Fuji bodies. As with most of my experience with non-OEM batteries, they work, but I find the charge runs out a little earlier than an OEM battery (no scientific testing though). But the cost is much lower that it doesn't matter to me if they don't last as long per charge.
Quick look at Amazon US shows three cheaper alternatives: K&F Concept, Wasabi Power, and Smallrig (in orange and baby-blue). There are other, less known brands.

Which brand is good, which one to avoid?

the result of tariff? Ouch
No doubt.

There's no way I'd spend $96 on a low capacity W-126S battery. Saw your post and immediately ordered two SmallRig batteries for $18 each. I've been using SmallRig in my Nikon bodies. Very happy with them. And they have the distinct advantage of having a USB-C charging port built in. At 1/5 the cost a couldn't care less if it turns out they only have 80% of the capacity and longevity of the OEM batteries. So far the Nikon ones have been doing great.

You should get the Smallrig in orange:
  1. It is easier to find in a bag
  2. They charge by a USB socket
  3. Orange is more serious than baby blue

Anyone else find it really annoying that in 10yrs, Fuji have never bothered to improve the tech in this battery? Surely with the way technology moves on, they could improve the power output of the 126, this could also breathe some new life into our older cameras, especially given they still use the battery on some of their latest models. In fact I find it a bit lazy that they do still use them and haven’t bothered to improve them at all.

I'm just glad when they keep using the same battery so my new camera fits the old spares and more and more cameras need a supply of them. The NP-W126 was updated to NP-W126S though the capacity in unchanged.

Yeah that is a plus point definitely.

It's below my irritation with the X100VI not having UHS-II support.
