** Weekly Fuji X-Series Photo-Sharing Thread August 2 – 8, 2025**

Beautiful falls with just the right shutter speed. I assume this is in Scotland? It's been too many years since I visited Scotland but I have a number of slides from the time. Maybe time to go back.

Which beach/area is this? As I just mentioned to Alan, places like this are nice places to visit. I wish I had the time and energy to visit them all!!!

I agree with Morris... but I will add the area is magical.

Great photos and pleased you escaped the ravages of the rain.

Captured nicely!

We're almost having a monsoon season. It was still sprinkling when I stepped out the door to shoot this. Tried to get a shot off before rain got on the front glass of the lens.

That's a beauty!

Thank you both for nice comments

I also like the softness/fairy tale feeling. Great photo. Nice sharpness throughout as well, especially considering the low f/stop. Did you focus stack?

2.8 club- 16-55, 50-140.
Rest of the story- 70-300, and 100-400mm, 1.4 ext. and MCEX-11. X-T2 (broken paper weight).

Nice images (as you know I like old cars). You seem to have a lot of car shows not far from you. Are they weekly or do you just search them out?
I think I've mentioned, my first car was a '67 Mustang. The love for old cars is shared. 🙂 There are probably about half a dozen or so shows that happen regularly in this area. Since it is a bit remote corner geographically speaking, there are fewer, but generally well attended, shows. I would guess less than a dozen or so a year. I regularly go to about 2-3 per year.

This weeks and last weeks posts are from the same show- the biggest in the area. It combines car show, show and shine (non judged separate show at the same time), antique gas-up, old tractors, swap meet, tractor pull, burn out contest, and cruise down the main street- all in one weekend. It's the Fortuna AutoXpo (spelled like that).

Pure luck. The fog burned off in a few minutes along with the weird light.

Some shots from around Halli, Finland, during Midsummer. C&C welcome.

(Second one is just slightly lower to the water than the first and produces a smooth bottom half of the image. Not sure which one I like better...)

Hazel Grouse chick. I did not see a single adult grouse on my hikes, but I did happen upon this youngster, and believe this to be a unlikely encounter- everything I've read suggests the Hazel Grouse sticks to dense forested areas and can be hard to locate.

Had to be quite still and lay on the pier, but this Goldeneye and her chicks eventually got within arms distance from me...

Very cool to see the Night Heron on the pier! I'm used to them being less social than other herons.

I really like these, you've certainly achieved your goal in capturing the mood of the place! It seems like a very pleasant town!
