Hello, everyone. As I always say, thanks for making contributions to this worthwhile endeavor.

This weekly thread serves as a place for members who own Fuji gear to share recent work …… specifically, with their Fuji X APS-C cameras. To re-emphasize…. it’s just fine for owners to post images made with their “other” cameras, but the idea is to allow owners with Fuji X APS-C cameras to compare notes, tips, and any other helpful hints.

To contribute your image, please respond to the original thread. Please, in your message, include a title to reflect what you wish to convey. Consider making it somewhat entertaining… it may add some “spice.” In addition to uploading/embedding your image, please tell us a little about the image if you wish. It is helpful to some of us who are less traveled to talk about the location of your photo if possible. If you can provide details such as camera, settings, and processing, that would be great for people reviewing the images.

If you wish C&C (comments/critique) please indicate that in your post. In this thread it should not be assumed everyone wants C&C. However, if you want specific feedback (composition, exposure, subject, etc.), don’t hesitate to mention it. It may be helpful to respondents what your needs may be.

Thanks,

PS…… Post away!

I’ve seen a lot of egrets but encountered a Black-crowned Night Heron in what I would think is in an unlikely place….. the end of a pier on Balboa Peninsula in SoCal. There were a few egrets running around and one of these. A lot of fishing is occurring on the pier so I can imagine why the birds would be there. However, in all the years I’ve been on the SoCal piers, this is the first time for a Heron sighting. I didn’t have the cam I would normally use for birding but what I did have with me (28mm equivalent wide angle) was sufficient since I was able to get within 6 feet without it flying away. Be sure to pixel peep with original size!!!

Oh, a young and very brave egret was standing on the wooden barrier waiting for a kind fisherman to offer it some food.

And a closer crop revealed it is missing a claw on its left foot. Oh well.

Couldn't decide how much I liked the background blur between the next two.

Well it's a start Bob :} This seems like usual behaviour for other areas.

These were taken the morning of the flooding here in Queens, NYC. I visited the Marine Nature Study Area knowing that a strong storm was approaching and going to break the heat wave. About 1.5 hours into my shoot I felt the hair on my arms rising and saw the cumulous clouds arriving. I decided it was time to quickly walk out of the preserve The rain did not start for about 2 hours yet when it did the result was trapped cars, trains and damaged homes. We did fine as we have done a lot of work to control the flow of water on our property including grading away from our home. A drywell system, a check valve on our waste main and drains in the basement. All we got was a bit of seepage which dries quickly. I feel for those that had serious damage.

We're almost having a monsoon season. It was still sprinkling when I stepped out the door to shoot this. Tried to get a shot off before rain got on the front glass of the lens.

Pretty good for such high ISO.

Nice images (as you know I like old cars). You seem to have a lot of car shows not far from you. Are they weekly or do you just search them out?

Nice!
