Wonderful capture, sharpness and composition ... colors overly bright (for my taste) ...Most Ruby-throated hummingbirds pass through the New York Metro area on there way north in the spring and then return and spend some time in the fall. Apparently a few have found a nice spot on Long Island to spend the summer. A friend told me about the spot and it was a joy to see and photograph them. I'm featuring one individual from the first two visits I saw it make to feed on the the red beabomb.

Yep, since I just boarded our van for the next stop!I assume you have the slightly weighty combo on the seat next to you?Shot behind the windshield![]()

Quality…having them interact like this makes it really stand out….great capture
It definitely was…however long it was. Beautiful shot.
Nice compositions… 1st b/w, 2nd colour and 3rd b/w works for meI posted in a separate thread, but wanted to add a few here also. Couldn't decide on the color or black and white for these few.
Went to check out one of the local car shows today. Still a bunch of to go through, but here are a few of the first round. That 18mm just continues to do its thing. Maven linear polarizer coupled with 1/8 strength sho-glo (diffusion) filter for almost all. Tried to lean into the highlights with some of the bloom/diffusion effect on that filter, given the bright sun. Apple Photos with Photomator plug in. Classic negative base to start. Kept the f/stop low a bunch because I could.C&C welcome.
Strong and subtle reflections . . . narrow f/stop to make the subtle reflection even more subtle.
