Very nice photo. I prefer the color version. Don't ask me why, I don't know!

Strangely enough, there is no possibility to upload the Pixel 9 Pro jpeg directly. Dpreview won't upload them. I have to export them first via Lightroom and then I can upload them.

No clue why. They're not edited

Also have this problem and I'm thinking that DPreview system is having some problem with the metadata generated by GCAM and gets stuck.

Can I ask a question?

I'm don't see many photos showing people here. Is it just because the focal lengths available aren't adequate or because people here just prefer photographing landscapes?

I got an small camera recently with decent zoom. My aim was birds, but walking around the streets sometimes I think about shoting people too, but I can't, and not only for "security" reasons. The other day I took one shot, just one, of some constructions workers at a distance and the result was painful, one of them noticed and looked straight at me.

I'm introverted so this doesn't help, but I guess some people just aren't the type that can photography other people? Not that I have that much interest in "human photography".

I'll take photos of people, but unless it's a large crowd gathering, I tend to shy away from posting photos of people on a public forum. I'll post on social media where I can control who sees my content, although I've gotten away from social media. People are just too much in a combative mode these days - even this forum takes a toll on me from time to time.

^ I have the same problem when I try to open jpegs in Photoshop from images sent from (typically) later model Samsung phones. My solution is to open them using Faststone, then re-save them to overwrite the original.

I can only answer for myself, of course, but I have never been interested in taking pictures of people. Aspects of the natural world, places, buildings, landscape.

There was an air show out at Kingsley Field in Klamath Falls, Oregon this weekend. And I was curious to see what I might be able to capture with my iPhone 16 Pro with the Reeflex 2X (240mm) lens attached. All are HEIF Max files, straight out of the camera, uncropped and unprocessed.

I have taken “people” photos from time to time. But I rarely do it. Mostly because I know that most people don’t like having their photo taken without their permission, but also because I rarely find the resulting photographs to be all that interesting or memorable. It has nothing to do with the lenses available to me. My phone camera covers all of the “standard” street photography focal lengths.

I know that in some countries taking unsolicited photos of people is frowned upon (maybe even illegal?). But here in the U.S., if you’re out in public then you’re fair game for anyone with a camera. The only legal exception is if you take a photo with the intention of causing embarrassment. But good luck proving that in court.

I have phases of taking a lot of people photos but I do not post them anywhere these days, not sure why, I suppose there is a fear of posting an image of someone that does want their image shared with others online - maybe because posts seem to just evaporate overnight and most people seem to have more interest in landscapes or nature images.

Very nice work. I'm particularly impressed by the framing, which is difficult with such a FL, without a viewfinder. Congratulations!
